The Stairs

The stairs in woods concept is so good because of the many ways you can spin it and build a mysterious atmosphere around it. This movie capitalizes on none of it. It's your stereotypical people being hunted in the forest movie, complete with stiff dialogue and cheesy writing. This one's just got a pretty set of stairs on screen for about two minutes of total screentime. In fact it's so unimaginative that they had to add a door to it.

Save yourself the time of this one, even if you're a fan of the NoSleep stories.

For those who whine that the story made no sense, I ask, what about horror and the unexplained ever makes sense? It is, to be sure, your typical story about an encounter with the unknown, but it has a bit of a different approach. Give it a try. At least it is not one of the endless batch of "found footage" films that try to pass themselves off as an actual movie.

Two 70s stars lead the cast of this tax write off, but are only on the screen for five minutes. The rest is a predictable gore fest with a couple of fun jump scares.

I have seen better, but I have seen worse. And at least it wasn't two hours of CGI.

I just saw this, went into it expected nothing and was still disappointed. There are two scenes with the stairs and they are both irrelevant. You can literally cut the stairs out of The Stairs movie and it would be the same movie. The guys were cute though so 2/10.

While this film has an interesting premise, and a good marketing and licensing budget...

WHO thought the color grading was ready for release?

On an HDR UHD television this is completely washed out! If they had reduced the brightness and kept the contrast they would have a more visually interesting film! I don't understand the obsession some filmmakers have with either increased frame rates or washed out bright colors or both! I want movies to look like professionally produced movies on film, not cheap television video! Not cheaply produced daytime soaps!

This film had potential but it was totally washed out colorwise!
