He says everything said behind closed doors. This show is the truth, and hit dogs will holler. Give me more!
This show is not a history lesson, and it's not an effort to examine centuries of systemic racism. In a lot of respects, it isn't even about race; it's about cultural background - the difference is subtle but important. From the perspective of an urban American black comedian, Keraun has some fun with perceived differences between the races as suggested by how they spend their time. In fact, some of his investigations aren't really well considered or researched - for example, North America has a long and noble history of black cowboys (and even in his own 'hood - go look up the Compton Cowboys). But he's playing it for laughs, not marks, so how about cutting a brother a little slack on the odd historical inaccuracy, huh? Personally, I'm just glad someone's taking the mickey out of Irish dance, and I hope there's a third season.
So lighten up and enjoy the ride, huh?

I stumbled across this on Fuse/Sling and thought the title was a mistake so I checked it out. Pretty cool to watch a black comedian try to make us the audience laugh while the white people standing next to him are just, wondering if and when they should say something. Everyone I saw seemed to be good natured and I hope it stays that way. Frankly I (am white, but grew up in the country) didn't know welding was a white thing. My stepdad and mom were both welders and they worked with a diverse group of almost all men. I hope we can all learn how each other thinks and understand it.
I watched the trailer for this and that was more than enough. I am Black. I've been accused of "acting white" or "wanting to be white" my entire life, so I fail to see the humor in this. Sure there are activities that are heavily associated with white people- like colonization and genocide. But I can't think of a single activitiy that a white American has done that a Black American has not. This narrative perpetuates harmful stereotypes and gatekeeping. It's also hard to tell whether it was intended for Black consumption or White consumption- either way, they're laughing AT us not WITH us. And white people are angry at this because they think it paints them in a negative light when really it just perpetuates this notion that white people have hobbies and fascinations that Black people don't have the capacity to understand and appreciate. As a scholar I'm very disappointed to see this in 2021.
