Who Killed Malcolm X?

This documentary is deeply personal to me which is why I was very apprehensive about watching it. In this day and age in which people are trying to create a name for themselves by doing these posthumous documentaries revealing embarrassing or damning things that are largely uncorroborated, I didn't care to see Malcolm X be a victim of the same slanderous type of work. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the documentary "Who Killed Malcolm X" stuck very rigidly to the issue of who killed Malcolm X without trying to find some hidden flaws in Malcolm that could be exposed for public consumption.

My parents were part of the NOI and I consider Malcolm X a personal hero. He was killed over a decade before I was born, but I still gravitated to his words. His assassination, like many other assassinations, has always been a cloudy issue and everyone had their opinion. This documentary by Netflix in which Abdurrahman Muhammad is the biggest piece due to his diligent research is the best work I've ever seen or heard dealing with who truly killed Malcolm X. Abdurrahman dedicated the majority of his life to unearthing evidence pointing to the real killers. For those who have little to no knowledge of Malcolm's life and death, this documentary will provide many eye-opening details. And even for those who have moderate to heavy knowledge of Malcolm's life and death, this documentary will still provide some bombshells.

I appreciate this documentary because even though Malcolm has been dead for 55 years TOMORROW, the truth should still be known.

Another outstanding documentary by Netflix that is hard to quit once you've started watching it. If you like history then you will find this to be truly amazing.

Everybody knew about the Nation of Islam (NoI) organization's involvement in Malcolm X's murder, and this series again puts them in a Microscope. And rightfully so considering what they had done to one of the US' greatest Black American Political figures.

Apparently the American Law Enforcement Agencies were only too happy to have a controversial personality like Malcolm killed by his own fellow Black Americans so they made sure that most of those behind his killing got away with it.

The series also goes out and names the assassin whose weapon directly caused Malcolm's death, apparently his identity has been an open secret among New Jersey's Black Muslim Community and yet they protected him and even allowed him to have a full, satisfying life, compete with a hero's burial.

My only issue with it is that for some reason, it seems they had allowed Malcolm's assassin to die before they released the documentary. They tried to show otherwise, but I felt it was intentional, for one reason or another.

Anyway, a Must-See Documentary for me.

One thing is clear from this documentary and its that people know who did it and have chosen to turn a blind eye to it. Be it loyalty or not wanting to become targets themselves but they know and by not assisting they are obstructing justice. People of faith complicit in allowing murderers to walk free and letting two innocent men suffer in jail. Alot of information and footage I'd never seen before that offers a unique look into the rise and fall of Malcolm X. The corruption and profiteering of the upper levels of the nation of islam movement and the hypocrisy of its leader. It's been announced the investigation has been reopened as a result of this documentary and i hope some more clarity and justice can come from it. Informative, well researched and eye-opening. A very immersive watch whatever your knowledge of Malcolm and the circumstances surrounding his death.

A really well put together documentary. Great interviews and archived footage. The filmmakers present the information in a clear linear way. Just such a shame that guy died before they could ask him face to face!
