Legends and Idols

Willards Legends And Idols is a great film about pursuing and realizing dreams. It follows Willard, who clearly has a gift with his unique pieces and unbelievable style. If you are in the mood for a feel-good documentary, this is a must watch!

This documentary tells a riveting story of a man trying to make it as a Pop Artist while still holding on to his vision. The story is something many can empathize with and relate to, and that's why it works here. What truly makes "Legends and Idols" stand out, however, is the compassion behind it. There's clearly admiration for the art from those involved, and director Mark Knudson is definitely cares about the work he is showcasing. It just feels like everyone involved put care into showcasing Willard's work, including Willard himself, and that's what makes this documentary worth watching. Definitely worth checking out for sure.

Colorful, swirly, painted musicians, who are, and always will be, my Idols, are featured in this unique documentary about a man's vision to break into the "Pop-Artist" world to gain financial freedom is what this film is all about. The giant black and white guitars that were spotted on Sunset Blvd, years ago, had always intrigued me. Finally, the director, Mark Knudson, answered the mysterious arrival of some unforgettable art that caught my eye and stayed with me. To understand these guitars, and the artist behind them, Willard Snow, was clearly done by watching this film. I truly enjoyed hearing about his early days of finding his style by admiring "Rick Griffin" album covers, encouragement from his sister Jeannie, and just the love of abstract art was relatable. And the story line from the arrival of the guitars into his life, via Gibson Guitars, the struggle to complete the contract, the involvement of friends and his now wife, Irene, to the actual delivery and completion of the guitars at the Sunset Festival, truly brought the concept of PERSEVERANCE" to life.

I highly recommend this documentary to be watched by any artist, young or old, new or experienced, in order to realize that the the visions' one has is just as important as the manifestation it takes to get to the goal. And, to "Focus on the goal." This is what Willard continues to do in order to keep his dream alive and on-going; lessons' we all need in life!

An amazing film about how dedication makes dreams and art come alive. I loved learning about the pop-artist and his journey on creating these beautiful painted guitars. I've seen them on Sunset Blvd and I must say WOW! This is a must watch film for sure!

This was really good, worth watching. There's a side to any artistic community that one doesn't see or get exposed to unless they're a part of it. The ups, downs, frustrations and struggle to put everything you are into something artistic. I've been following his art on social media for a while now and it's fantastic. But to see this side of the story and what drives an artist to do what they do was great. Especially when it's very down to Earth, honest and grassroots.
