Reform School Girls

Dana Vespoli captures the black humor of this exploitation genre title, bringing some of the fun back from those wonderful '50s and '60s B movies on the subject.

Mona Wales is perfectly cast as the horny disciplinarian running the school. with icon Sinn Sage equally appropriate as a teacher quick to use her yardstick for spanking purposes.

Harley Jade is a find in the lead jail-bait role, projecting more of a girl next door (read: civilian) image than her overexposed porn actress co-stars. Vespoli writes herself into the cast as another bad gal, and the script and playing throughout is just short of camp, so as to leave the eroticism of bdsm lite still dominant.

This 'women in prison' (WIP) flick shows a lot of flesh - but that's about it. It's porn. The cast (not surprisingly) are all porn actresses, which means the standard of acting is what you'd expect. Pretty abysmal. Not that you watch WIP movies for Oscar-worthy performances, but you expect at least some degree of... conviction (no pun intended). Some of the girls mumble and mutter to the point of being barely audible (not surprisingly, there's no end credit for 'sound'). The girls are attractive enough (the standout is the diminutive, exceptionally cute Lily Jordan - who was born in 1998, so by my reckoning was just 19 when the film was made). The plot - if you can call it that - is simply 'spoilt little rich girl does time, learns to respect authority - and turns to lesbianism.' There's a lot of girl-girl BDSM, but it's a pretty lacklustre effort. 5.5/10.
