Barrier

It is not exactly the film of story. A boy swiming, two Canadian soldiers, the night, the Dutch beach.

But it is the film of details - the night, tired men, the boy, the tension and temptation to shot, the music and the end .

And its virtue, for that, remains the fair way to define the war , as a chain of vulnerabilities, fears, doubts, perspective about danger, joy of the answer. Obvious, it is just an admirable crafted short film, proposing fair , precise question to the viewer, suggesting the pieces of empathy.

Walt Klink proposes a great role, with so little tools. The difference between Louis and Sylvain is pedagogical brilliant. A film about attitude and about fear versus trust.

In short, one of great war films.
