The Drowning

No spoilers here as this drama started quite well but the last episode was absolutely ridiculous. Full of 'what the hell was the point in that?' scenarios and absolute disbelief in many scenes the drama went downhill at a rate of knots.

Ultimately when you think back to the story, very little makes any sense at all. The acting is OK from a few of the actors namely newcomer Cody Molko as Daniel and Diedre Mullins as Kate but poor acting from Deborah Findlay as Lynn who sounds as though she is half asleep. I won't recommend this drama as there is some very bad writing concerning the plot and overall it really isn't that good.

I think that the very low ratings of some of the reviews are a bit harsh. Although it is difficult to disagree with many of their observations.

It certainly had a number of very weak moments, some gaping holes in the premise, and sub plots that brought little to the table. But it was nevertheless quite compelling, and we did quite enjoy the ride- until the last twenty minutes or so.

How utterly ridiculous. It was as if the conception and writing of ths denouement had been handed over to a beginner. For me this totally let the whole thing down and I began to resent the 5 hours I'd invested in watching the ruddy thing.

This ending was simply shamefully lazy writing.

Bad acting, terrible directing and a score that just waffles on throughout, typical soap rubbish. However it's the story and dialogue that should win the prizes for being utterly rotten. Not one aspect is believable, mind this was written by someone who used to write for TV's Crossroads. Do not bother, you'll drown in your own drool.

This had the potential to be such a good series. Good storyline idea. But everything about it was wrong and I mean everything, too much to even list. The only saving grace was it was well acted by the cast. I watched all four episodes but spent most of each saying "why would they.....", "how could she....", "why did/didn't they" etc etc. Totally unbelievable from start to finish. Disappointed!!

The best part is the acting. The worst part is everything else. The characters would never act the way they do in real life. Teachers/police officers/human beings in general. Ridiculous.
