Schwarz oder Weiss

A backyard, a meet after long time, memories, jokes , expression of friendship and hospitality and good state . And a moment, changing everything , for characters, more for viewer. A beautiful film for spring atmosphere, small details than for brutal twist.

Thomas and Manni meet after a six-month separation. Their reunion seems forced particularly on Thomas's side. It's clear that Manni is far more enthusiastic.

As the meeting progresses it becomes clear that theirs is no ordinary gay relationship; they are either adopted brothers or step brothers although this is never specifically addressed.

Thomas has recently had a huge success in his area of work leading to publicity and television appearances. Looks like Manni is going to be left behind especially after a bombshell Thomas drops.

And that's it. Why should I, or anyone else, care? I might have, had the acting been anything like competent and convincing. But it wasn't. Nor was the script.

Utterly not recommended.
