In love with this movie. Legendary Music, the best I've heard in any film. The story and performances are top notch. Don't know why this film is being review-bombed here. It's a must watch, the best of 2022.

*) K Reviews *) ( ( Even though everything seems predictable still this looks authentic. From the era they choose for the whole movie is displayed with utmost authenticity. The polite way of speaking with each other, your words value more than your life, it's a weakness in society to live on your daughter's earnings. All these issues are displayed and shown gracefully. Although the climax was a bit cliché and could be done more. Even though the actors are great but they could have given more screen-on-time to some of the veteran actors in the movie, so that it could have impacted more. No forceful CGI is highly appreciated. And this is a light hearted, with melodious music, one time watch movie.

A period drama that is topped with an exemplary production details and a befitting cinematography. A story that pulls on your heartstrings. Convincing performances but somewhat cursory story-development. However, its music simply outshines and steals the show. It makes up for the rest. The folk songs recreate the era, define the characters and make the audience reminisce and relish the rich musical traditions of Punjab. The story is kind of a reminder of the Kaur sisters (Surinder and Prakash), the famous folk singers of Punjab during the post-independence era. Magical, soulful music is The essence of the movie and it makes the movie-watching an unforgettable experience. Fantastic job by Noor Chahal, Jyotica Tangri, Sanj V, Jaidev Kumar and the rest of the team for delivering such a melodious music. An excellent watch.

This is definitely an honest story, well made even & with several good songs. The performances too are commendable. Two sisters good at singing infact excellent in singing are trapped in a household who are opposed to them singing, for the sake of the honour of the family which again is dictated by the patriarchal male figure. Sure, the story is set in that era & the first half perfectly captures it. The sisters are allowed to sing anonymously but their popularity will lead to their names & photos being revealed which in turn pushes them further into the cage.

It is the second half which needed better writing atleast in the final act. It is here they resort to resolving the conflict easily by having a sub-plot involving a bed ridden child who exists solely to direct the plot to it's end. The plight of the sisters, especially Roop after her marriage simply was too much to be overcome by a miracle. Anyways, the performances are good enough followed by the soothing songs to make it at best a decent one time watch. I wish the second half had atleast tried matching the first half and it could have been a far better film, which it deserved to be.

Music 10⭐ Cast 8⭐(special applause for Taina movie by movie she is definitely evolving. Remember so many movies where she bearly watchable but in this great work but still sometime her voice feel childish or made up if we campare with leading actresses.) Story 5⭐ music was really good after a long time i heard pure generic treat with traditional flavours. Acting wise all done great as I don't have much expectations from many but guggu Gill and other legends done justice with role one person disappointed was ammy as well as story and character development was too poor great concept poor execution.

Still I feel movie was good not bad at all. One two time watchable because of music but many rate less than 5 was too bad. Movie deserve better specially music and feel.
