I just finished watching this. I have watched several of Oztepek's films and love his work (bias?) This is no exception.
The celebration of life (even in death) and the true connections and bonds between people are so beautifully painted that I cried and laughed many times during every episode.
A cast of several queer and "non-conforming" (for lack of a better word) people are beautifully portrayed and their challenges in life are dealt with love and a deep understanding for the challenges we meet out there. Strength comes from unusual places and is in no way contradictory to vulnerability. The lipstick scene is priceless.
Then there's the language (watch the original with subtitles), all the Italian dialects, the Turkish (which is beautiful but I don't understand it), the cinematography, the attention to details, great acting, and yes, Ozpetek's amazing direction.
I truly enjoyed having more than the movie-time to get to know the various fates of these characters. Amazing show.
