Had me laughing from start to finish! The satirical nature of this film sets it apart from current movie releases. Fairly unassuming, this film will catch of guard with it's ability to find humour in the mundane.
What starts off a typical mockumentary, quickly decends into rabbit hole of comedic mystery which will keep you guessing throughout!
The score to the film is fantastic with the songs mirroring what you would imagine caroline (the main character) enjoying herself.
With songs ranging from the poem, I want be yours by John Cooper Clark, to the inevitable Sweet Caroline by neil Diamond it gives the feeling of and everyday working man's Spotify playlist.
If you haven't seen this before it's definitely a must watch!!

Such a funny movie - one of the best mockumentaries that has come from England in a long time. Would highly recommend watching it!
The movie explores the bizarre world of competitive veg growing - full of interesting and hilarious characters. The writing is so clever and humorous which makes it a joy to watch.
The film shines thanks to its witty script and endearing performances. Jo Hartley's portrayal of Caroline is a standout, blending innocence and determination in a way that makes her both relatable and utterly lovable.

A comedy gem - wonderfully absurd!
Swede Caroline is a hilarious mockumentary that feels both fresh and quintessentially British, following a community obsessed with competitive vegetable growing.
Jo Hartley is brilliant as the lead, bringing charm and authenticity to her role as Caroline, making you root for her from start to finish. Every supporting character is more delightfully odd than the last, creating a world that feels at once completely ridiculous but also entirely relatable.
The mockumentary format is used perfectly to capture the small-town rivalries, personal ambitions and hilarious character quirks throughout. The brilliant writing and clever dialogue, delivered with pitch-perfect timing makes this a real joy to watch.
A must-watch for anyone who loves a smart, character-driven comedy. It's a story with a lot of heart, all wrapped up in a world of giant vegetables. Proving that the best comedies are homegrown!

Nowhere near as funny as I expected it to be. It could have been better especially with some of the cast in the film
Another thing that annoyed me, in the credits they give the exit song credit to Dan Baboulene. The Marrow song ( Oh what a beauty) was sung by Adge Cutler and the Wurzels back in the late 60s/early 70s. Its on some of their albums. Including Adge Cutler and the Wurzels "Cutler of the West" album
which was released in 2003 on CD but originally released on vinyl in 1968. In fact this particular song was written in 1952 by Edrich Siebert. So it should not have been credited as original music by Dan Baboulene
As you can tell I am a Wurzels fan.
I went into Swede Caroline not knowing exactly what to expect, and I was completely blown away. This film is an absolute gem! It's the perfect blend of British humor and originality.
Jo Hartley is brilliant as Caroline and instantly lovable. There is brilliant comedy throughout with just the right amount of absurdity - which you can expect from writer/director - Brook Driver. The story of a giant vegetable-growing competition might sound niche, but trust me, it's gold. The mockumentary style works perfectly, pulling you into the small-town drama in the most hilarious way.
What I loved most is how, even though the film is pretty bonkers, it still has real heart. The writing is sharp and there are lots of laugh out loud moments.
