Lost

If you want to address too many issues and you don't have strong story nothing can save you. Lost picked up haphazardly and then set some momentum but then collapsed. Everyone tried little too hard and no actor other than Rahul Khanna is convincing. Yami sadly was main lead and her role was most confusing. She had to be brave, journalist, vulnerable and she get connected to the antagonist due to her father.

Film was too repetitive and unnecessary songs were introduced which did nothing but were irritating. At times you too give up with Yami that film will remain bleak with unnecessary introduction of unnecessary plots. Most hilarious was the ending when you hear lecture which was more repulsive as you know how whole plot that was built has been collapsed and now director wants to save himself by telling the viewer how you have been made sucker.

Skip it to save headache l.

Just not saying this because of I am a Yami Gautam Fan. And I really don't understand films how these Reviewers does. But LOST is a good movie. Yes sometime you will fill bored , doesn't have the soul of KAHANI but now a days the kind of Bollywood movies is being made, in that standard this will stand out as a good film.

It could have been a great thriller if the ending was cleverly planned.

It does get lost into finding actually what it wants. It was going into the right direction but got lost in between. Here Vidhi is just going to people and just asking some bunch of questions. But at the end just one person gave away what actually happened to Ishaan. I mean really.

Now about performances. In that case you won't be able to find anyone who isn't suitable for their role. Yami as Vidhi is simply fantastic. You will actually travel with Vidhi around Kolkata. Vidhi is fearless, always speaks her mind, yet she is empathetic, emotional. In one scene she is sitting with Ishaan's sister and told her to eat a cake, after that she looks at her, you will see Vidhi's empathy through Yami,s eyes, That's how good she is. Rahul Khanna, Pankaj Kapoor, Pia everyone is apt to their role.

Plot of the Movie

Ishan a theatre - street play actor gone missing & the story comes to the Vidhi Sahani the daring journalist & she is on a mission to find the "LOST" guy & what happens during the course of her journey forms the rest part of the movie.

Movie Analysis 1) If the movie Pink was against the women safety and freedom , here Aniruddha talks about the negative shade of the politics & so the parallel politics in his own way. Writer Shyamal Sengupta , & co writer director had just given again a reminder to the society when politics plays dirty games , even the wisest lost themselves which then becomes a helix kind of state for them.

2) Kolkata had always been the best places for the Bollywood thriller. Kahaani & now Lost, as it always takes the audience with the story & it makes us a feel that the protagonist is not just alone to solve the mission.

3) Yami Gautham had given cent percent justification to the role. Her anxiousness , her curiosity , her hunger to know the truth , Yami able to portray well at the right time which didn't made the audience feel over rated.

4) There was a romance but that doesn't overshadowed the main plot thereby not loosing the gravity of the same.

5) Pankaj Kapur, Rahul Khanna who were having a larger screen presence had given a notable performance.

6) One negative which I felt , after a certain point , the movie was not able to continue as they want so the screenplay was twisted around the protagonist which made little painful.

But overall, a decent thriller movie. Another notable movie in Yami's filmography.

So many good actors and yet Lost fails to deliver on what could have been a good movie.

The premise is good, but as many reviews have noted the story is stretched too long. I can't even call it slow burn. Many scenes are unnecessarily long, and some don't even add much to portraying who the characters are or contributing to the story.

The way characters talk to each other feels weird and unnatural. I couldn't help feel that Rahul Khanna was trying to emulate RG✋ which just distracts from the story. Did the writers really want that?

Reviews that have given this 9 and 10 stars is Lost on me. Maybe I missed something?

Film Review: Lost streaming on ZEE5 !!

Feels strange reviewing a film after nearly a year post release !! But here goes ...

Inspired by true events, Lost is an investigative thriller that tells the story of a woman crime reporter who is working on the mysterious disappearance of a young theatre activist in Kolkata. Is he a naxalite or simply an innocent man caught up in dirty politics!!

Great acting by Yami Gautam as the protagonist and crime reporter .. she totally rocks!! Pankaj Kapoor as her father , Rahul Khanna as a wily politician and others in the cast have done their jobs well.

This shows that a film with a strong script, great cast and direction can really create magic !!

Starts off in a laid back manner, very much like the city of joy , 'Kolkata' where the events happen. However the film picks up pace slowly and the twists and turns will definitely keep u intrigued till the end !!

On the flip side , some loose ends needed to be tied up .. some questions left unanswered.. could have been tightened up a bit !!
