Lost

If you want to address too many issues and you don't have strong story nothing can save you. Lost picked up haphazardly and then set some momentum but then collapsed. Everyone tried little too hard and no actor other than Rahul Khanna is convincing. Yami sadly was main lead and her role was most confusing. She had to be brave, journalist, vulnerable and she get connected to the antagonist due to her father.

Film was too repetitive and unnecessary songs were introduced which did nothing but were irritating. At times you too give up with Yami that film will remain bleak with unnecessary introduction of unnecessary plots. Most hilarious was the ending when you hear lecture which was more repulsive as you know how whole plot that was built has been collapsed and now director wants to save himself by telling the viewer how you have been made sucker.

Skip it to save headache l.

This is one of those movies that keep you glued to the screen till the end. Although you could guess what could happen, but it proves you wrong every single time. This movie will not pump up your adrenaline nor it has any scene that would make you jump off your seat. The director has kept the thrill under pressure and he releases it slowly one wrap at a time till the end of the movie. Moreover, the situations and conditions shown are very relatable and you could feel the mental anxiety an investigative reporter faces 24x7 while doing his/her job. At one point, one can easily feel as if an investigative journalist is no less than an undercover spy or cop but without any protection!

I loved the character building, story flow and how the protagonist steered clear her way. Yami Gautam is at her best, as usual along with the supporting star cast. My take: One should at least watch it once rather than falling for the propaganda machinery.

Film Review: Lost streaming on ZEE5 !!

Feels strange reviewing a film after nearly a year post release !! But here goes ...

Inspired by true events, Lost is an investigative thriller that tells the story of a woman crime reporter who is working on the mysterious disappearance of a young theatre activist in Kolkata. Is he a naxalite or simply an innocent man caught up in dirty politics!!

Great acting by Yami Gautam as the protagonist and crime reporter .. she totally rocks!! Pankaj Kapoor as her father , Rahul Khanna as a wily politician and others in the cast have done their jobs well.

This shows that a film with a strong script, great cast and direction can really create magic !!

Starts off in a laid back manner, very much like the city of joy , 'Kolkata' where the events happen. However the film picks up pace slowly and the twists and turns will definitely keep u intrigued till the end !!

On the flip side , some loose ends needed to be tied up .. some questions left unanswered.. could have been tightened up a bit !!

So many good actors and yet Lost fails to deliver on what could have been a good movie.

The premise is good, but as many reviews have noted the story is stretched too long. I can't even call it slow burn. Many scenes are unnecessarily long, and some don't even add much to portraying who the characters are or contributing to the story.

The way characters talk to each other feels weird and unnatural. I couldn't help feel that Rahul Khanna was trying to emulate RG✋ which just distracts from the story. Did the writers really want that?

Reviews that have given this 9 and 10 stars is Lost on me. Maybe I missed something?

Lost is a political thriller drama which makes you question about a lot of society problems and of course the government politics. Vidhi a journalist whose aim is to cover and know the story of a lost guy who's suddenly been missing with no reason. Movie sets it's tone from start gets gripping every minute and start questioning your mind with different situations and aspects of lots of political issues. But can a simple journalist make the questioning to the high sector like minister and big political name of India that still hard to believe. Story & Direction is on point but movie is very slow paced and sometimes it gets you bored because each character takes it's time rather to go on a fast note because story isn't unique or different as we've seen previous films based on this just had different perspectives. For ex. KAHAANI is the prime example of a thriller and this film will give you vibe of Kahaani film. YAMI GAUTAM shines in the whole movie and her performance is the only highlights of the film rest of the cast is good but could've been better. Screenplay could've been more tight as it is very slow paced with a slow story. It's an interesting story to follow but it's not everyone's cup of tea.....
