Chicago Party Aunt

I loved this series! If you lived through the Mike Ditka era in Chicago you would get the jokes. It is spot on with life in Wrigleyville during the time when it was the center of entertainment in the city. The Cubbies and the Bears ruled. All of the other Chicago teams were an afterthought.

Diane's love of Chicago made me smile and remember my days in college when pub crawls through the neighborhoods of the city were like an Olympic sport. I had friends whose parents were just like Diane. Any Cubs game was a reason to party and tailgating at the Bears game was a family affair.

Loved this show. Wish they had more episodes. Maybe a spinoff with Mikey's college years at DePaul University would be a good idea.

I can't believe the haters who didn't get the humor. They truly missed out.

Diana showed us that she does have a heart and will do anything in her power to set things right for them. I'm also dead serious that this should replace The Mighty B on Nick rewind. Cause this show is an underrated classic. The Mighty B (pleas do not get offended by what I'm going to call it, it's true anyways) is a short-lived critical and commercial failure. Diana is everything Bessie should've been.

Man, you would not BELIEVE the amount of backlash this show got when it was first announced. When the first images of the show were released online, people VERY quickly attacked this show for (aside from this being based off of a Twitter account) being a "generic adult animated comedy", which I always hated the stereotype of. The stereotype that "all adult cartoons look the same" and that "Family Guy is to blame for the downfall of modern adult animation", which is NOT true, by the way. There are plenty of good adult cartoons out there, you guys just aren't looking hard enough. And yes, adult toons with "that" art-style can be really funny at times (i.e. Disenchantment, Duncanville, Final Space etc.). Come on, guys. Be fair for once.

Oh, and about Chicago Party Aunt. It's alright. It's not amazing but it occasionally has its moment or 2. There's not really that more to say about it. 6.7/10.

If you're not familiar with the cultural references (and stereotypes), it may not be very funny. But if you get them, it's pretty damn funny and there are a LOT of them. Quite creative, really.

The CPA Twitter fees has been really funny for years. The show is decent and has a few good laughs, but is very specific for a Chicago audience and for people who grew up in pre2000's Chicago, when Chicago was full of blue collar SNL Super Fan types. A few nitpick details - Diane should be from the Southside or south suburbs.
