फ़ीचर्ड समीक्षाएं
I want to love this show. I like the glassblowing and blacksmith shows, so welding is right up my alley. But just in the first episode, I have a lot of issues with it.
The first challenge should have followed the same formula as Forged In Fire: the first challenge should be an equal playing field. Give them the same equipment, the same starting materials, same equipment, and requirements that are actually clear. Letting people do their own work with their own material at their own workshops is not a fair first challenge. Once the competitors show they have the creativity and the fitness to continue on, then give them the freedom to be creative. In the second round, again, sculptures were judged unfairly because the requirements weren't clear.
I'll have to watch more episodes to make a final judgment, but for now, though I love the concept, I'm frustrated with the execution. There are a lot of improvements to be made.

I'm only half way through the first episode and had to see if my initial opinion was matching others. Sure enough; Excited for this concept, but the criteria and critiques need serious review before making a second season.
Judges don't seem to respect the competitors or eachother. Their comments are often insulting and petty. These are BOTH amazing artists and fabricators and at one point they express who's an artist and who's a 'real' fabricator.
One of the men had a prefabricated piece at home that showed up on site but wasn't called out for it. I can be petty too... are chains and motors not prefabricated?
Producers see these home videos and can't send out a memo to all the competitors? The forced 'drama' isn't needed, because the working with the metal is interesting enough!
At one time the welding sparks causes comments and seconds later the overview of the shop shows several competitors AND the crews without safety jackets. Seems like they're picking on certain people more than others.
I'm ok with the Host not knowing a lot about what's happening. That allows him to ask questions that viewers want to know too.
Maybe the judging should be blind?
Maybe get different judges?
Maybe technical 'discussion' during the challege isn't done by the judges?
I'll watch a second season if these kinds of edits we're all suggesting can be made.

Oh, when will producers learn. It is not necessary to have an irritating comic as a host. Jo Koy may be a decent standup (I don't know) but if his performance on the show is any indication, I wouldn't be going to a gig. His 'jokes' are forced, annoying, awkward, very unfunny and distracting from what could be an enjoyable show, and it is very obvious he knows as much about metalwork as I do about brain surgery.
Aside from that, the talent of the contestants is amazing. The designs and fabrication are amazing and while I have little understanding of the process, I can still appreciate the skill and the art.
The judges are a bit meh. I would prefer them to input a bit more into the process rather then just critique without context.
Overall, ditch the host. Just use the judges or include a host with a genuine personality and with an understanding of what is going.

Some cool builds and good welders. The assignments were interesting and brought out unique design ideas from the welders. Where this show lacked was in the host and judges. The host had no idea about welding, and didn't make good jokes. The judges were stiff and didn't interact well with the contestants or each other.
This could have been so great , I wanted it to be so great but no. Me and my friend were super excited to see this and it's so disappointing. You have these judges that don't give these people creative liberty or at least don't like when people are creative. There super specific for giving them 10 hours . They have a lot of unqualified help and the judges are awful like honestly so snobby that it's annoying. A lot of people I feel like got disqualified for weird reasons. The cast was amazing they did so good but I feel like they were very under appreciate for the amount of work they did in that time uiu. They were just way to harsh on these people for what they gave them to work with. They also were super unclear about a lot of stuff and I feel like that was the result of people going home. Just weird energy so awkward a lot of the time. Music editing everything felt very half assed. A good watch just to see the amazing art work but judges sank this show.
