Fire Country

I love this show! The other reviewers who talk about it not being "realistic" I guess never watch anything except documentaries and the news. I can't speak for how realistic it is, but I don't care. It's entertaining and that's why I watch t.v. I don't watch television because it's realistic. It has drama, eye candy and keeps my attention. That is ultimately what makes good television. Sure, it has its slow parts, but what doesn't? At the end of the day, I look forward to watching every week and it is a refreshing change from the many superhero shows out there. I recommend giving it a watch!!!

The actors are good but the way they fight fires is NOT accurate and you don't need to be a firefighter to notice that.

They talk while the fire gets everywhere, they are so slow. The way the rescue people doesn't make sense. You can literally see how they can release someone traped but they do some weird rescue that doesn't make sense at all. The ambulances are coming so late.

Also going to a house in fire without any mask and long hair out, we've seen in many fire fighters show that this is not how it works.

Besides that, someone with kidney disease drinks beer is the weirdest scene for me.

Casting error : Manny looks too young to be Gabriela's father. He's 48, she's 34 in real life! It's not plausible for me.

So I like the actors because they are good but the screenwriting should be really improved and collaborate with real fire fighters to write more accurate stories. Also about the other stories, the guy leaves when his sister is dead but he's in prison for 4y for trying to rob someone and he changes his name while there. The stories accuracy is like a soap, real telenovela but the actors are good so they make the inaccurate more credible with their good acting. They deserve better.

Occasional subplots are ok but this show has degraded into who sleeps with who being the whole focus! If I wanted to watch that on TV, I would watch a stupid reality show or DVR a soap opera. It's a shame because the potential for a really good show about fires is out there...but not in this mess.

A couple of the actors hold their own...others aren't given the chance to move on from exhausting romances. I'm sure it's possible to come up with storylines other than who is in or out of love?

I was watching faithfully because I enjoyed Theirot's work in the past...but the plots have dug into a mired pit of emotion.

Had watched Seal Team so then watched this to see Max Theriot in something else so had pretty high hopes, it was entertaining enough, but the story was so poorly written and predictable.

The show had its moments and has good characters. It had entertaining fire fighting and rescue scenes in each episode but these were sometimes overshadowed my the consistent melodrama.

It had a lot of potential but was let down by poor writing and actors stopping in the middle of a fire to have a deep conversation got a bit tiring. Not sure if there is a season 2? If so I'd watch it but wouldn't rush. If your coming from Seal Team you'll be a bit let down.

I absolutely adored the first season of the show. I loved how to show centred around restorative justice which was refreshing for a show about first responders. The writing and acting was so good the first season, I had high hopes that there was finally a firefighter show that wasn't super cheesy and unrealistic. After the first season the writing and acting became worse and worse. There is quite a few plot holes, every episode is over the top and often unrealistic when it doesn't have to be, and they are forcing the good guy/hero arch with Bode so much that it's cringy. One of the only actors that has stayed consistent since the beginning is Billy Burke, he's a huge reason why I even keep watching the show. I don't know what happened after the first season, but it's sad to see the progression of the show and the character developments go so badly.
