Candified: Home for the Holidays

It's raining non stop here and California and we wanted a Sunday afternoon, family friendly option and we couldn't agree. So we actually selected this holiday themed show out of pure compromise and I am so happy we did! I loved it. Honestly - I expected to sneak in a nap during the show-but I was engaged! There there was enough humor, drama, fun, frivolity and heart that I was invested!! We were bought in and there is no mistaking the joy that comes when you make magic with candy. I mean who doesn't love candy!! Welp, we were so delighted by the show that my son and I watched it a second time to see the process and the amazing work done by the Candy Queen and her merry group of candy artists. Highly recommend for a smile and some joy.

Such a fun show to create and make working alongside this talented team of candy artists & friends. Candy Art is not quite baking but truly captures all the crazy, creative things you can do, make & create with the magic of candy. From creating Unicorns Hair with sour belts to making crunches our of licorice and gummy bears.. there are so many things that can be created with candy. We are often asked how long things take to make, how many thousands of pieces of candy something took in order to create or how did you do that, think of that or make that? Candy simply brings so much joy & nostalgia to people and it a wonderful artistic medium that is hard not to eat during the creation process. Let your creativity and imagination run wild as you enjoy the craziness of candified!

It's an interesting show but right away she explains that everything you see is edible candy. So right away I'm like that's an interesting concept. But they build it all on a base. And the base isn't candy. So I'm picturing picking candy off of foam or wood and eating it and that seems not so tasty. Then again it's practical. I mean it makes sense that it would not be 100% edible stuff. It's edible stuff in non-edible stuff... But I couldn't help but feel disappointed.

My family and I were in the mood for Christmas when I discovered this show. (It's so hard to find a show everyone can enjoy, so that's one great reason to watch it.) The diverse cast build a house and all the furniture in it, then covered it in candy. Not only is it jaw-dropping to watch the process, but the artistry is truly amazing. The cast was very diverse and a lot of fun, I just got the sense parts of it were scripted. That's a shame because I liked just enjoyed the building process without any of that "reality tv drama". There's only a few episodes. Maybe if there were more episodes, they won't have used that fake drama. I really want a season 2, just less scripted and more about building.

They start off by hitting you right in the phase with their bold personalities but by the end you start to see this isn't a show about building a candy house but about the crazy architects behind the house.

It's the real housewives of candy. All the attitude, all of the bickering, and all of the making up that you expect from a show of this type. With the added bonus that they are actually accomplishing something.

If this show catches peoples attention it's gonna be hella polarizing. You are going to either love it or hate it.

Honestly the build is pretty interesting too. Candy was not a subject that I thought would catch my interest but they do a decent job of building tension.
