My friend recommended this to me. I do not write reviews usually but wanted to for this. A lot of people won't get it but if you really pay attention and understand it, this is a stand out film. The trailer made it look scary but it really isn't, I thought it was just pretty mysterious and funny sometimes. The ending is actually insane but it happens really fast so a lot of people might miss it. Actors were all great. Characters were complicated and it was hard to figure them out. I liked this one and recommend to someone who wants to watch something different and something that is like a puzzle sort of. Also had killer music and I enjoyed how it was shot. Fun film.

Quite honestly, Nobody's Home stuck in my head like no other film has. Although I am sincerely encouraging of all film makers (particularly first time filmmakers), I am also someone who tends to have incredibly high standards when it comes to cinema as a whole. With that being said, Nobody's Home shocked me in the best possible way. It is a film that will question the psychologically hindered or the emotionally stunted and will give the darkest and deepest of souls a sense of comfort in this lonely world. Louisa Erlich, the writer, put together a masterpiece that shows the audience that mental health is more than just an Instagram hashtag, and that even the most disturbed amongst us feel deeply and desparatly crave love. This film straddles the line perfectly between darkness and lightness, and it shows us that moral ambiguity is the most human thing of all. Each character is carefully crafted and nuanced, and you will begin to feel as if you identify with each and every one of them by the emd of film. Everything feels real, yet this film is truly one for the most imaginative. A real thinker's film. Each and every actor did a phenomonal job, and I have no doubt in my mind that the entire cast will go far. Particularly Erlich who breaks your heart as the beautifully fragile yet unpredictable Theodora. BRAVO.

Well, I fell for the 9.2 rating this movie had when I was looking up the details lol. No, this is certainly not a 10/10 like the first few reviews that were posted. I'm giving it 2 stars: 1 is because some of the music and scenery is ok, and 1 is for some of the awkward scenes. I do appreciate a movie that's awkward and makes me feel uncomfortable and this tried to do that, it really did. But it just falls flat in a million ways. The acting is rough and the storyline ridiculous. My biggest gripe is how unrealistic it is. If anyone found themselves in a similar situation, none of us would stick around and keep hanging out with this couple. Would never happen. And all the characters suck, so there's no one to root for.

Rented it for $2.99 on Amazon. If you're curious, wait until you see it on sale for $0.99 or less.

You can tell this film was made with love and care by a really talented cast and crew. Its hard to see movies like this get made anymore. This movie simply creates a situation and parks you in one location for the majority of the film and it works so well. Film is also beautifully shot and scored. There is a moment where we sort of jump into the perspective of people who are on psychedelics and it really accurately portrays the experience, something that many films exaggerate or overstate. Overall cant recommend this film enough, grab a blanket with your partner and settle into this one.
