You're getting high concept here, if you chance upon this production from La Scala in 2017. The singing is often excellent--Sabine Devieilhe may be the best Blonde around--and the costumes are very appropriate, but the lighting is terrible. The singers bodies are often blacked out by back-projection. This really baffled me, as I can't figure out the reason for this.
