Meet Marry Murder

One involved person says something then the next says the same, in only slightly different words. They even repeat some clips. Could have easily been 20 min episodes.

I've been watching this on YouTube. I like it. But have to take breaks because of it being so disturbing. But I guess I've watched all the ones on YouTube. Which is also disturbing. I just wondered if they were making anymore of them.

I love true crime shows, so I was excited to start this series. I do like how they make awareness of domestic abuse for both men and women. The stories themselves are pretty interesting and intriguing. The narrator has a good voice and there's a good mix of British and American stories. The thing is, all of the "experts" are annoying. The editing job makes them look bad. They repeat themselves over and over again. Why do we need to hear from a criminologist and journalist talk about the same thing over and over again? It also doesn't help that the same experts are in every episode and they talk like they know the people intimately when in reality they're probably just reading cue cards.

I prefer this "Meet, Marry, Murder" series over the other series of the same title with Michelle Trachtenberg. I do like that there's a combination of US and UK cases, many of which I have not previously heard about.

Many of the cases are interesting...HOWEVER, a few of the "experts" are overly dramatic and unnecessary. Why, why, why is Carolyn Canville, the journalist not speaking to the audience, but looking off sideways? It's beyond distracting and quite annoying. Also, Brian Harris, the former police officer constantly repeats himself, again very annoying. These "experts" add nothing to the show when the actual narrator is able to explain the cases in a much more reasonable tone and manner.

Why they've decided to ham up the amateur dramatics I have no idea, it's absolutely ruined the watchability this series had. As others have said it's always been a bit dry due to the constant repetition, waxing lyrical with minimal info and acting like they know the fine details of what went on, plus that each episode has max 2 photos they re-use every 5 minutes. However I used to be able to enjoy watching it before they made it so dramatic and got people to act. Hoping this is a one off and they go back to the normal format next season, as it's pretty painful watching and really not enjoyable.
