Definitely one of my favorites. One of the few that I watched again after a year. The story is interesting and truly "oriental". Which is exactly what I find interesting to watch. Exciting, sad, inspiring, tender and cruel - all at the same time. If the men in our family start to roll their eyes at the first episodes of other so-called C-dramas and disappear to other hunting grounds, then this drama was watched with interest. Whether it was the story, the excellent acting, or the "monsters" living in the depths of every person - I don't know. The film is not feminine. Not cute. Nothing sweet. Philosophical and crisp in its own way. I'm not a Buddhist - but there was something there. Maybe it's because I live right on the border between East and West. And something about this film - something very old and primitive, seemed familiar to me. I recommend it. I highly recommend it.
