The movie is very well written and beautifully executed. It is very important for film makers to tell such stories and for our audience to support them. The way the story progresses and characters are introduced, it keeps the audience on their feet and hooked to the screen. The director has done a great job. Acting was amazing and even the child actors have done an exceptional job. Cinematography is a very important part of any film and this film is very well shot. Every scene is a visual experience. Watching this film was an emotional journey. Glad that topics like these are being highlighted by today's filmmakers. A very thought provoking film and definitely worth a watch.
This directorial debut is a rare gem amongst the era filled with fantasy dramas. Its a compelling film on child labor with a historical but still relevant incident, the poignant narrative sheds light on the harsh reality faced by countless young lives. The stellar cast delivers powerful performances, breathing life into the characters and amplifying the emotional impact. The film skillfully navigates the complexities of the issue, urging viewers to reflect on the societal challenges surrounding child labor. Its indeed a thought-provoking and socially relevant piece that not only entertains but also prompts contemplation on a critical subject.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this movie but it captured me from the beginning with its beautiful cinematography then drew me in with the story. Just when I thought I knew where it was going, it shifted and added a new and compelling layer. What I loved most is that it gave me knew ways of looking at the issue of child labor and economic development around the world - not just in Pakistan, but in a global sense. As easy as it would be to think this is an isolated problem, it faces all countries. I admire the courage and honesty it takes to pursue such a story in one's own backyard. But simply, it was a beautifully told story about the complexities of human nature, the choices that confront us and who we'd like to be in the world vs who we really are, as well as the larger world we live in itself. Done with compassion, grace, but also a fierceness. Finally, not to miss the symbolism of the title. We live in complicated times where we want there to be clear good and evil, but the reality is so tangled. Somehow, I still felt an element of hope, at the end of the movie in spite of the fact that we face unsolvable and perennial problems. A reminder that there will always be people willing to fight, to speak up, and to tell stories. I'm so glad I got to see the film.
