फ़ीचर्ड समीक्षाएं
*Just got done watching Kaliyugam, and I'm somewhere in the middle about it.*
On one hand, the concept is genuinely refreshing. It's not every day you see Indian cinema dive into dystopian themes with this kind of seriousness. The visuals were striking, and the entire atmosphere of the movie pulls you into its grim world. Shraddha Srinath absolutely stands out-her performance adds weight even in scenes where not much is happening.
But at the same time, the movie feels like it's constantly building up to something bigger... that never really arrives. The pacing struggles, especially in the first half. You keep waiting for that one moment to really hit you, and when it finally does, it feels a bit too late. Some characters just drift through the story without making any real impact.
It's a film that dares to be different, and for that, it deserves credit. But it leaves you wondering how much better it could've been with tighter writing and more emotional depth. Worth a watch if you're into experimental cinema, but manage your expectations.

If there is an option of zero stars I will give it. Movie fails in all departments. Sound and those fake locations which can easily identified is absolutely atrocious. Please don't waste your time by watching this movie. Actors are underused. Fake blood and fake gunshots which are easily recognisable. I know budget is low but there are good movies which are low budget and produces absolute fantastic quality. Those cannibal elements is worst in movie felt forced and not important. Why there are 10 stars reviews for this movie maybe PR team did that not a single review is there and finally except me and my frds whole theatre is empty.
Kaliyugam is a bold attempt at a dystopian Tamil film set in the year 2064, presenting a world in chaos where survival is the only goal. The story follows a woman, played by Shraddha Srinath, who must protect a young boy in a lawless, ruined society. While the film has an interesting premise and some engaging moments, the screenplay feels uneven and lacks the depth needed to fully connect with the audience. Shraddha Srinath delivers a strong and emotional performance, and Kishore adds intensity with his gritty role, but the overall impact is weakened by predictable storytelling and slow pacing. Visually, the film impresses with its cinematography and sound design, creating a believable post-apocalyptic atmosphere. Despite its flaws, *Kaliyugam* deserves credit for attempting something different in Tamil cinema.
About halfway through Kaliyugam 2064, I caught myself holding my breath. Not because of a jump scare or a loud moment-but because of silence. That tense, eerie silence where a character is just trying to survive, and you're right there with them. That's what this film does so well. It doesn't just show you a dystopian future-it traps you in it.
What struck me most wasn't just the scarcity of resources, but the scarcity of trust, hope, and humanity. You could feel the weight of every choice the characters had to make. The film doesn't scream its message-it lets the atmosphere, the eyes of its characters, and the emptiness of its world speak for it.
Visually, it's haunting. The color palette, the barren landscapes, the abandoned spaces-they all tell their own stories. And the music? It doesn't overpower. It lingers. Just like the film.
Kaliyugam 2064 isn't a film you just watch. It's a film you survive alongside the characters. It's raw, bold, and incredibly timely. This is the kind of cinema we need more of.

Just watched *Kaliyugam*, and honestly, I'm a bit torn. The film does a great job building a dark, believable dystopian world, and visually, it's really impressive. Some of the frames looked straight out of a graphic novel, and the atmosphere throughout was haunting. Shraddha Srinath completely nailed her role-quiet, powerful, and totally convincing. She carries the emotional weight of the film effortlessly.
But at the same time, the pacing felt off in places. The first half takes its time setting things up, which is fine, but at points, it felt like it was dragging without really moving the story forward. The second half definitely picks up and delivers some tense moments, but I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was missing. The emotional connection didn't land as hard as it could have.
Also, while the world-building was fantastic, some of the supporting characters felt underdeveloped. You don't really get to know or care about them, which makes the stakes feel lower than they should.
Overall, *Kaliyugam* is definitely worth watching for its fresh take and brilliant visuals, but I wish the storytelling had a bit more punch. If you're okay with a slow burn and love atmospheric films, you'll probably enjoy it. Just don't go in expecting a fast-paced thriller.
