Mask Girl

This is another great Korean drama that is worth your time.

I had no idea what the story was going to be about and even as I was watching the show, I could not predict where the story would go.

I don't want to give too much away, but each episode is a unique point of view that progresses the plot and keeps the show fresh and unique.

The last couple of episodes bring to mind the early work of Park Chan Wook, which is never a bad thing.

I wish the US made shows like this, but it seems like Korea is producing far more interesting tv shows than the US.

I'd also advise watching it with subtitles rather than overdubs. The overdubs are never as good.

We really were not expecting this. Described as a 'Dark comedy' which probably the first few episodes were, but then it went into full thriller mode with high school and prison drama.

I can understand the 18 rating with graphic violence and lots of blood but thankfully not so graphic sexual acts.

Definitely not for children. There's revenge, self discovery, bullying, misogyny, bullying, loneliness, betrayal, parental relationships and society's judgemental attitude's especially online.

Good character building and direction with back stories given black & white treatment or year subtitled. Script and storyline is pretty good with unexpected twists but some scenes needs reality check like many horror or thrillers.

One of the best K-dramas to date.

Yesterday I finished " Kingdom" and was pretty disturbed by it and next thing I know I'm watching another Korean thriller equally dark and disturbing! I've come to the conclusion that the Koreans are masters in dark thrillers and comedies!

Mask Girl will draw in all the people who ever suffered bullying and wished they could fight back but don't!

It also shows that no matter what , even getting plastic surgery to be more beautiful doesn't take away your troubles because your mind is still unchanged!

In these social media times we are in now the pursuit of perfection it relentless and destroying our young people!

The first episode is the starting point that leads into others becoming darker and darker ( and bloodier) while we are emphasizing with the characters. At times I'm having troubles telling the protagonists apart because they look so alike which is also a reminder to me of how alike and monotonous beauty images are on line and in the media nowadays!

The actors are very good in portraying pain, fear and misery ! Many of us have been in that dark place including me and therefore I understand the premise of this story ( to a certain extent of course but the violence and payback makes it more fun)!

I'm watching with original audio and English subtitles which makes it more authentic! I've become so good at doing this that I rarely Miss anything!

Highly recommend this series! A word of caution: the assault scenes are not for the faint of heart but are portrayed very truthfully!

It hits on a lot of things to reflect on which I liked. Dark side of obsession in so many forms really. The actors did a good job, the fact it is dubbed was nice as well.

It is pretty dark and brutal. Kind of over the top really. Prepare for a wild trip driven by the thoughtless traumatizing and traumatized spiralling everyone into the abyss.

It was a perspective I found sobering really. Some real pervs in this one. The online camming was really the least interesting part of the series which is what I thought it was going to be about. You will not guess where this goes, you just have to watch the entire thing.

The show is interesting so far a few episodes through but is anybody really buying that this chick is some hideous monster ? I mean she's extremely pretty with a great body and supposed to be smart with a good job. Where is the undesirable parts about her.? I understand they needed to get someone and I guess she doesn't look like the prototypical Asian girl (again I don't see it) . The looks aside of the main actress it is pretty funny and is definitely not some of the real garbage Netflix has been putting out lately and passing for series. I'll stick around and stay put for the rest but man is she so not ugly .
