फ़ीचर्ड समीक्षाएं
I recently watched the Indonesian film Para Betina Pengikut Iblis (2023) on Netflix. The storyline revolves around a father and daughter living on the outskirts of the city. When the father falls ill and becomes infected, they are driven to desperate measures for food and money. The daughter resorts to killing people and scavenging human remains to feed her father and make money in their neighborhood.
Directed by Rako Prijanto (known for The Clerics), the film stars Adipati Dolken (#friendsbutmarried), Mawar Eva de Jongh (My Ice Girl), Hanggini (Fireworks), and Sara Fajira (Kabut).
This film offers a mix of excellent and missed opportunities. The opening leg scene is particularly impressive. However, the acting and dialogue vary in quality throughout the film, and there are inconsistencies in the authenticity of certain scenes. On the positive side, the kills and gore are exceptionally well-executed, with top-notch scenes of flesh cutting and blood splatter. The goat killing scene is particularly intense. The ending delivers satisfyingly kills as well.
In conclusion, Betina Pengikut Iblis may not be perfect, but its redeeming elements make it worth a watch. I would score this film a 5/10 and recommend seeing it once.

The early minutes have appeared oddities that spoil the entire film. The gore that is used as the selling point of this film, then the acting of the actors (which arguably do not disappoint) has been shattered by this.
Then what about the devil?
Nothing interesting not even a cringe fall. The devil is noisy and does not describe something that is used as a title. And don't forget the devil's makeup... wow... the makeup looks really weird, you can still see the untouched parts too.
Then the ending, it feels really forced so that there is a sequel. Plus a plot twist that doesn't look like a plot twist. It just brings up huh... "what the heck". There is no clear planting to build the plot twist or the ending.

The movie is too flat and didn't scary at all. Love the props and the acting (especially the main actress called "Sumi"), but the rest I'm totally dissapointed and meh. The devil looks funny with his face powder, fingernails and red eye. Not sure if he is the devil or vampire (maybe lost in Indonesia I guess). Then, the storyline also quite similar with Thai horror movie that I watched during my university years. The movie name is "Meat Grinder" if I'm not mistaken. Quite similar the storyline where the main actress (the killer) will sell humans meat at her stall. Nothing new for me but as compared with the Thai version, I would prefer that Thai movie instead.
First of all, good parts; yay strong female characters (both sumi and the shaman girl can kill and their aim to do such thing isn't bad). You dont see much of that in anything horror. Especially southeast asian.
The shaman girl is so cool. Its better if they just made a movie just about her being powerful
Ok good part over. Everything else aint nothing lmao
My most hated parts are the unnecessary r*pe scene. Nobody needed that redundant thing shown bro we get it, that happened. Its gross
And the usual suspects, perverted male characters. Idk whats the thing with sucky horror movies and perverts. The stats are already real as is irl, i want to be scared or genuinely enjoy the horror story not be reminded every couple minutes that these kinds of dudes exist. So depressing. Not scary, just annoying and upsetting
Anyway, dont waste ur time if u wanna find something scary or enjoyable to watch. Uhhh... You can use this movie to show ur sisters or daughters that bad men exist as warning thats about the only thing i can think of as benefits from this movie.

"Am I the only one confused about how the main character could afford a freezer in their house, even though they couldn't even manage to have a lamp? It feels inconsistent and raises questions about the story's logic. The acting, for the most part, was overdone-every scene seemed exaggerated, making it hard to connect with the characters. As for the story, it lacked depth and failed to engage on a meaningful level. There were opportunities to explore interesting themes or emotional layers, but they were missed. Overall, it felt like a missed opportunity with more style than substance. Furthermore, the skeletons was like taken from high school labs"
