Philip's

One of the beautiful movies in Malayalam, most probably in Indian cinema as well. The most underrated movie. A simple story, with right emotions giving us all the inspiration to fight and survive our own battles. I wonder why such good films are under appreciated in our world. This movie stands really close to our real world scenarios and one can easily relate with to their life. There is no super hero, fight scene, masala, out of the box story ...and still it win our hearts with its cute and touchy moments. The songs are beautiful and also I am really happy to see the crew paying a fitting tribute to one of the best actors in Malayalam movie. The casting is perfect and everyone deserves an applause to being a part of this movie. Must watch..

A simple and beautiful feel-good movie. I loved the movie very much. Never thought I would write a review for any movie.

It's a realistic movie that seems in our life.

The cast was perfect. Great performance from everyone.

Navani was just superb. Also the girl who played the role of Bitty, she is so lovable. Mukesh and innocent combo worked out very well. Noble also showed a good performance.

I could honestly watch it for another few hours, like a good book you don't want to end.

I highly recommend you sit down with your family and enjoy this movie.

Worth watching.

Philip's, directed by Alfred Kurian Joseph, and co-written by him and Mathukutty Xavier (basically, the team behind 2019's Helen) is a watchable family drama that relies heavily on its ensemble cast. Mukesh leads from the front, playing the titular character with a potpourri of typical Mukesh mannerisms and one-liners, and is without a doubt, the film's beating heart. Seeing Innocent alongside him for the final time adds to the film's intrinsic sweetness. The first half plods along with a sense of everydayness, and the supporting cast (comprised of Noble Babu Thomas, Navani Devanand, Ansha Mohan, and a few others) lend decent support.

Hesham's music didn't work all that much for me, and none of the tracks carried that hummable quality (post-watch, i.e.). Noble Babu Thomas' acting also needs some seasoning, and just like in Helen, maybe it's wise to take some acting lessons as he sticks out in scenes (..and not in a good way..) where he's working closely with veterans like Mukesh and Innocent. Navani's performance grew on me over time, and it was in the second half that her character started showcasing more resolve. The little kid who played Bitty is very cute and did her "chess nerd" act convincingly. Now, at a certain juncture, I've got to say the film went in a different direction than expected, though as scenes progressed, one could always guess the final destination, including the dramatic routes it'd take.

P. S. The closing Innocent montage was lovely. It made me realize the kind of happiness he has contributed to our lives over the years.

Just watched Philips movie in PVR Oberon Mall, Really loved this movie.

So Happy to watch such movie inbetween the release of big movies.

It's not like a new concept, extraordinary or something, but completely a worth watching light hearted family movie.

Really a worth watching for the family audience.

There was no any unwanted scenes, vulgar jokes or lack of duration.

Mukesh - Innocent sir combo.

Mukesh's performance in Hospital scene made me emotional.

Child characters were also awesome.

Innocent sir will always be remembered and the end credit mashup for our Innocent sir made me emotional.

When good content is made into a good script, the film becomes successful.

Yes, Philip is one of these kinds.

I'm happy to see Mukesh's beautiful performance after some years. I got emotional after seeing innocent on screen again.

As I said, the content of the movie is good. The makers made it perfectly, blending all emotions. The bonding between Philip's and his children is very relatable to a general audience.

After watching, I felt the movie was like a Hollywood feel-good movie we see.
