Of course I had not even heard about this 2022 movie titled "Congress and Cali" prior to sitting down and watching it here in 2025. I virtually had no idea what I was in for here, as I opted to check out what writer Chavvone Graham and director Clark Lewis had to offer.
Writer Chavvone Graham put together a fair script. It was an okay narrative and storyline, provided you enjoy light dramas with emphasis on a character-driven narrative. And the characters in the movie were nicely detailed and fleshed out, making them believable and feeling real. The movie's narrative does deal with some stuff that I guess people can easily relate to, for better or worse.
Needless to say that I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. The acting performances in "Congress and Cali" were actually good.
While watchable, it is hardly a movie that warrants more than a single viewing.
My rating of director director Clark Lewis's 2022 movie "Congress and Cali" lands on a five out of ten stars.
