Suffice it to say that I had, of course, never even heard about the 2023 sci-fi horror movie "Moon Ghost", from director Joshua Courtadev, prior to stumbling upon it here in 2025. Given my love of all things horror, of course I opted to check out the movie and give it a fair chance.
The storyline in the movie was actually not bad. So writers Joshua Courtade and Kristin Mellian put together a surprisingly good script. Now, now, don't get carried away here, it wasn't a spectacular storyline or anything, but it was definitely far better than I had anticipated.
Of course I wasn't familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. And that is actually something that spoke in favor of the movie. The acting performances in the movie were not the best of performances, keep in mind that this is an amateurish home-made sci-fi horror movie project, I suppose.
Well, this is a low budget movie, no doubt about it, and also a movie that is made by what I assume was a group of friends with an ambition to make a sci-fi horror movie. And the effects in the movie, well let's just say it was very, very low key. But at least they tried.
Would I recommend you to spend 86 minutes on watching "Moon Ghost"? No. Would I ever return to watch it a second time? No.
My rating of "Moon Ghost" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.
