Jentry Chau vs. The Underworld

Please please please, make this show run for at least another couple of seasons😭

It's beautifully written, the animation is great and brings back nostalgia for the best 2000-2010s shows and the soundtrack is AMAZING! Everything ties together perfectly.

The comedy brings relief through tough moments and the drama is deep and not just shallow.

Ed (voiced by Bowen Yang) is such a genuinely funny character who not only brings the laughs and comfort but also drives the story in a special way.

Jentry is a very well constructed main character. Her arc and growth is very interesting to watch.

This show had me SEATED. Literally could not move without finding out what's going to happen next.

It reminded me of some of my other favorite shows like ATLA, w.i.t.c.h., Dead Boy Detectives, Naruto, and even Spider-Man (kind of).

It's a perfect mix of nostalgia for 2010s animated shows and a new, fresh perspective.

A breath of fresh air from the animated series that I have watched so far. It has a unique premise and is definitely entertaining at times that I have been preoccupied with other life matters while watching it. The characters are well-written, and the developments were really relatable to an Asian kid growing up. Everything went perfectly, to be honest, but it went downhill for me after episode 10 as the momentum and buildup were broken, leaving me thinking that it could've ended by episode 10 and the last 3 episodes could be continued for season 2 already. Either way, it was a fun ride with Jentry and the gang. Living for the KATSEYE crumbs as well as a deprived EYEKON! GOT YAH LIKE A MOTH TO THE FLAMEEEE! 🔥

This show most definitely worth your time. Every second of it is something you should most definitely take in and enjoy. A season 2 is something I really would want from this show higher reviews higher stars on imdb is equal to this show having a future and not having a fate of being cancelled please watch this show it's so good and is something again really worth your time give this show a 10/10 on imdb and let Netflix see the rating itself we could get a second season to expand on the world more besides everyone might need it... Jentry Chau Vs The Underworld is not only the best show of the year, but one of the best shows l've ever seen. It is incredibly fun & action packed, gory, and amazingly animated. Ali Wong & Bohen Wang give the roles of their life, and the same goes to the cast.

I can't say this enough, I love the animation and how it looks. It's held in this specific aspect ratio the whole time, and it looks so theatrical and fluid. It is one of the best looking shows I've ever seen. Other than that, the culture on display, and how it adds to the story and worldbuilding is amazing. I love all the characters, and how the show even subverted some character traits later in the season. The emotional moments hit my soul, but it's also very funny and well written, with twist after twist after twist. The story shockingly always had a way to keep itself innovative.

Jentry Chau focuses on the titular character, a girl with pyrokinetic powers that accidentally awoke them as a child, burning her hometown. As they resurface on the eve of her 16th birthday - also the date powerful mogwai spirits want to eat her soul - she has to deal with the trauma of her past experiences, navigate her teenage life, and try to survive.

In other words, a perfect and largely original (barrig romantic clichés) Chinese urban fantasy series. It is a good introduction to Chinese mythology and its various supernatural entities, accompanied by a hip and kpop soundtrack and a pleasant, almost comic-book like animation style.

A solid reccomendation.
