During in early production, originally Paul Reubens was going to voice The Sandman, but after his death in 2023 it was given to Omid Djalili.
Originaly the filmmakers wanted Ron Funches to be the voice of Baloney Tony. While he rejected the role due to he felt like he has played that same character in the past many times, he suggest the filmmakers choices his best friend Craig Robinson for the role.
Omid Djalili's fifth animated film, after Jhaadiyo ke us paar (2006), Konferenz der Tiere (2010), Shaun the Sheep Movie (2015) and The Bad Guys 2 (2025), the latter of which also released in 2025.
