I dont believe this movie deserves such a low rating though instead of Dhruv and Sakshi, if there were Srk and Kajol, there would've been better romance.

Its a nice watch nit sure why pol didn't like it .This is very good vibe of Delhi with the black truth . I would rather watch this that Ae dill HI mushkil types This is no doubt one of the better made movies if you remove songs. BTW some songs are really Good if they don't obstruct the story Sad the hard work director is not appreciated in this post. There was a time when a film called KHOSLA KA GHOSLA was struggling to get a decent theatrical release reaching the ultimate audience. And now is the time when the same 'once unknown film' is being followed by numerous 'average to poor' clones trying to somehow repeat the success story, redefining the power in the concept of Destiny.

Joining the same crew DILLIWALI ZAALIM GIRLFRIEND is another misdirected film made on the similar pattern of KKG wherein the 'plot of land' is replaced by 'a car' and the key character of "Khurana i.e. Boman Irani" is replaced by Jackie Shroff playing a Punjabi businessman quite amateurishly. In fact the weakest link of the film remains Shroff, a complete misfit for the character right from the word Go.

Beginning with a short medley having the credits, the first thing that starts annoying you in DZG (within the opening 5 minutes only) is its loud background score heavily relying on the Punjabi beats having no relation to the proceedings whatsoever. The forcibly used Delhi lingo, the easily predictable routine plot and the poor show by the bank lady (in the initial sequences) straight away reveals the mediocre content coming next. But the film surprisingly falls to much lower levels featuring the songs being there exactly when they were least required creating a hilarious situation, like the sad one thrown in right after the scene where the hero loses his brand new car and doesn't know what to do. Moreover it becomes even worse when you notice the 'lip-sync' completely out in the most famous track of the film composed and performed by Yo Yo Honey Singh (with Alfaz).

Post intermission director Japinder Kaur desperately tries to impress the viewers with more vague insertions like the sequence shot at Gurdwara Bangla Sahib in Delhi and offers only one or two entertaining sequences in the final hour (that too not featuring anyone from the lead cast). The story dealing with a con and sting operations planned against Jackie Shroff is written so boringly (read childishly) that you feel like leaving the theater much before the film is officially over. Nevertheless the three otherwise good actors namely Divyendu Sharma, Pradhuman Singh and Ira Dubey keep trying hard to somehow save the film with their visible efforts (made in vain) but the terribly bad Jackie Shroff never allows them to do so in the entire two hours pathetically.

As per the new guidelines, Censor once again mutes all the cuss words used in the dialogues, that doesn't seem to be an unjustified act this time, since the writers have simply inserted those words to create a silly-funny impact that falls flat pretty badly. However it was quite weird to see a black patch pasted on the hands of characters showing their middle figure raising a valid question that what's possibly coming next from the Censor board in the name of moral policing.

In all, despite having some catchy party tracks in its multi- composer soundtrack that possibly were responsible of bringing in the young crowd in its first show itself, DILLIWALI ZAALIM GIRLFRIEND is not worth your valuable time and money, even in a free play on the cable to say it all.

The time has come when filmmakers struggle to find the right title for their films. But here, the makers have tried a googly to attract people towards their film - with a title that gives us a fair idea about what one should expect. Alas, the film has nothing to do with a girlfriend.

The story is about Dhruv (Sharma), a skirt-chasing nimrod, trying to woo insurance agent Sakshi (Mishra) by availing one of her insurance schemes to buy a car he doesn't need or has the ability to buy. The blink-and-you-miss character of Sakshi is the closest the film gets in developing the "girlfriend" that is mentioned in the title, who is supposed to be "zaalim" (cruel). The film is nothing about a man supposedly being imposed cruelty by his girlfriend, but is something right out of the plot of a potboiler of early 2000s. Dhruv finds out that he is unable to pay the EMIs, so the loan shark Minocha (Shroff) sends his men to steal the car, repaint it, and sell it to another customer. And all this takes place in Delhi.

So, if we were to appropriately rename the film, it should have been Zaalim Dilli or Zaalim Mumbai or Zaalim Chennai or Zaalim Hyderabad, for the events that the writers have churned out isn't exclusive to Delhi, for cryin' out loud. Loan sharks are everywhere, and they cheat people everywhere. Why make a film that showcases social issues for the heck of it? And even if you do, why the cliché?

Unfortunately, nothing works out for Japinder Kaur Baweja as she aimlessly directs her protagonists (yes, there are 3 of them now) who move around in Delhi, screaming out stupid dialogs and carrying out an implausible sting operation to get back that car which has already been repainted yellow and sold to a scumbag of a kid. There is this annoying background music that plays throughout the film, irrespective of the sequence. I wonder if it was Miss Japinder's cousin who produced this background score that will make A R Rahman move to catering.

There are some random social issues that are being addressed here, but if you are searching for something original, go watch Court (2015) that will probably hit the theaters in April 2015. The cast don't help much, and if Jackie Shroff doesn't stop behaving like this, I'm afraid he's going to permanently damage his rough-stuff type image. Playing a malevolent and debauching villain isn't the best element to create humor. Ira Dubey seemed like the only wise person in the whole of film cast and crew.

BOTTOM LINE: There is no entertainment to be expected from this poorly made comedy drama that, for starters, is nothing like it claims to be. Avoid!
