This was a first class docudrama which I hope gains word of mouth popularity in the UK I know none of my friends had heard much about this - the case or this drama, but like me were saddened to watch yet again how the big companies continue to control and bully the smaller businesses, I doubt without much thought of the human impact. I'm pleased to see all the high ratings on here, an impactful and important production. I found the production style particularly well done, it showed respect for those involved it didn't fall into over the top melodrama like some of the more recent Netflix documentaries can be guilty of.
Stolen Dough brings to light a deeply upsetting case of corporate greed. It's heartbreaking that this young Italian American investor was not given proper credit. Wish we heard of this sooner as we have enjoyed way too many Pizza Hut stuffed crust pizzas. After watching this documentary we researched Anthony Mongiello online and found a tutorial he had on how to make the perfect stuffed crust pizza at home. We did it and let me tell you he definitely knows what he is talking about! It was delicious!
Sorry for Monticello's struggle against a corporate behemoth.
A great documentary! This is a film my husband and I highly recommend.

I was really pleased to see this film when I was in Houston, Texas at the Houston International Film Festival. I had no idea the background of Anthony Mongiello and his lawsuit against Pizza Hut. This film was very compelling, like a deep, underworld crime drama. I was happy I came across this accidentally during Houston International Film Festival large schedule. On the final day, when they run the films again, I brought my friend Erik to see the film with me, and he loved it. At first we were expecting this film to be sort of a comedy documentary but it couldn't have been further from that. It felt more like a who done it crime drama, and you could clearly see the influence of Italian American film directors like Scorsese in Stolen Dough opening minute. It's the best crime film I ve seen all year. An emotional and gripping film.
I was in the audience for the DOC LA Festival and was amazed at how dark, and moody this film is. The audience was expecting this film to be a parody but in about 5 mins they sure found out this was going to be more rock n roll and personal and dark. I love how the director was able to draw the audience into Anthony Mongiello's personal story. I felt very close to all the characters in the film. An incredible Crime Docudrama, Most Importantly, the music from the film does an excellent job of setting you back in the era of the 1980's and 1990's so you feel transported through that time era. I was very impressed with the filming and the cinematography. I highly recommend this film.
Stolen Dough captures very well the profound sense of betrayal and injustice experienced by Mongiello, This Documentary presents a stark reminder of the power imbalances in the corporate world. Legal battles of this nature not only take a financial toll on the "little guy" but are emotional as well.
Mongiello and his family deserve to be recognized and valued for this creation/recipe and hopefully this film ends up helping them towards receiving that.
I wasn't expecting to be so emotionally invested in this documentary. Intellectual property theft probably happens more often than we hear about and the lengths to which corporations will go to protest their own interest is so frustrating. Anyone that is concerned with fairness and justice, Stolen Dough is a must watch.
