It's a heartbreaking story, but one thing I will always suggest to anybody is never speak to a police officer that's given you Miranda rights without a lawyer... police are NOT your friend they have a job to do and their job is to put you in jail. Police are disingenuous in their approach. They act like you're their friend, but they work for a prosecutor and that prosecutor is in charge of putting you in prison...
NEVER NEVER NEVER TALK TO POLICE WITHOUT A LAWYER PRESENT, EVEN IF YOU ARE ARRESTED AND JAILED... HAVE A LAWYER WITH YOU EVERY TIME.. these are in alienable right handed to you by the creators of the countries.
