फ़ीचर्ड समीक्षाएं
For someone who has never been properly introduced to the the craft of industrial design this documentary showed many important insights. And besides being a really, really good film on that topic I also think the drama of following the students' struggle was very interesting. Like I was looking at an artist at work. I look forward to more stories like this where the filmmaker/s make something exciting out of what to me seems like an engineering feat. The irony of this film is also that it takes place in northern Sweden far away from where you would normally expect world class design to take place. I would like to really recommend this film.

I really enjoyed this film and it's way of dealing with the difficult task to show the difficult processes that industrial designers have to deal with, whether professional or student. The film follows a few characters during a year at one of the best industrial design schools for a year in a northern Scandinavian setting where one may not expect a top school of this caliber to be located. Students and faculty plus visiting lecturers give a great insight to what can be done if the atmosphere is open and welcoming yet put enough pressure on the students to perform. I would truly recommend this documentary film to anyone interested in the subject matter or in watching difficult, conceptual processes.
This film about some design students in Umeå is really nice as we get a chance to see a Chinese and a Turkish guy designing cars and other products from scratch. I have never really understood how this has been done so this film gave me a really good idea on the different steps in design instead of just showing a flashy finished product. Very useful to follow these students for a whole year in order to understand what incredible effort it is to make something as seemingly simple as a drill. I want to really suggest many people to watch this film especially if you are interested in design and industrial design. Recommended doc.
It was great to see a documentary about a topic like industrial design which must be tough. What I particularly like about this movie is that we get a chance to see the process that is normally so complicated to show. The students are eager to learn and offer a lot of insight themselves. The faculty at the school are very understanding and inspiring, you almost feel they are all on the same level which make the film so rewarding to watch. How I wish studying was this exciting when I went to (design) school myself. For anyone who care about the subject matter I really recommend this great film as a serious introduction to a fascinating subject.
In this documentary we meet students and faculty at one of the great schools for industrial design in the world, located in northern Sweden. The premise is to follow the students during a year as the school is losing its attractiveness due to the fact that Sweden has started to charge non-European students heavy tuition fees. The documentary doesn't just offer an insight to the very profession of industrial design but it also gives the viewer a deeper understanding of what it is that has made the school so successful in the past. I truly recommend this beautiful little film to anyone interested in telling a bigger story in a subtle way.
