Anora was extremely disappointing, with a third-class and cheap feel throughout. It lacked quality in every aspect, making it a complete waste of time!

Watching Anora was an incredibly disappointing experience. The entire production felt cheap and lacked any sense of quality or effort. From start to finish, it seemed like the creators were more focused on cutting corners than delivering something meaningful or engaging. The storyline was predictable and uninspired, failing to hold my attention or evoke any emotional response. The characters lacked depth, making it impossible to connect with them or care about their journey. To make matters worse, the visuals and overall aesthetic felt outdated and amateurish, adding to the sense of a third-rate production. It's clear that very little thought went into creating a cohesive or impactful experience for the audience. I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone-it's truly a waste of time and energy. If you're looking for something entertaining or thought-provoking, this is definitely not it!

Way too much of this movie's two hours is taken up with watching a fairly repulsive young couple -- an overprivileged Russian billionaire's sex-and-drug-crazed son and the brassy "sex worker" of the title -- getting it on in various ways and settings. They're both incredibly shallow, stupid, and greedy, though at least you get the sense that she hasn't enjoyed the easy life that he's had. Despite her occupation, she retains a certain believable naïveté.

That's the boring part of the movie. It goes on far too long.

The dumbest part involves the boy's three improbably clownish Russian handlers, who, in what's obviously meant to be a funny scene, behave like actors in a slapstick comedy. It doesn't work at all.

If you don't bail out at that point (as I was tempted to do), you'll find the final portion somewhat more satisfying.

The movie is truly an enticing advertisement for why all girls should stop studying and work a stripper/escort. Acting is mediocre at best and the story is well .... for the lack of a better word mind-numbing as it reflects the super consumption fueled glam lifestyle every fashion magazine and Kardashian reality shows attempt to sell. How is this borderline pornographic crap-fest for 14 to 18 year old audiences was deemed worthy of an Oscar was beyond comprehension. I do have to admit the staging, scenery and costumes were quite suitable to tell the story but the dialogues (straight out of high school locker room was cringeworthy. Please help me comprehend how low the Oscar bar has been dropped in recent years or who the Russian mob paid off to make sure this mediocre flick received such high praise.

How does a movie with no dialog win an Oscar?? Can someone explain that to me?! Saying a bunch of curse words for 2 hours does not constitute a dialog. The "couple" has zero chemistry so how are we expected to believe that she loved him?? Nothing happened between them for her to fall in love. They go on a vegas trip, spend a bunch of money, and that's it? That's how you fall in love with someone?! Hey writers, I got news for you - it doesn't work that way. It takes more than that! The russian actor was good and yes, the final scene made a lot of sense even though it was predictable as hell. The scenes where they're looking for the guy were soooooo drawn out and pointless. Why would you do that?!

If there was ever any doubt that the Academy was corrupt, after this movie, there is no doubt anymore. It's obvious that the Oscars are won with money, not talent. This movie winning 5 Oscars is undeniable proof of that.

I watched this yesterday, just before the Oscar awards were announced.

70% is sexual activity/nudity/porn like behavior 20% is fights/throwing and breaking things/yelling 10% is soap/crying

Not sure at all why this movie was granted so many awards. In so many categories. Especially for the best movie and the best actress. To me it was trashy, uninteresting and even boring at times. The only interesting part was when the parents came to US and took care of the business. The woman in the leading role is average looking at best with no acting skills, no aura, no charisma.

If you like trashy movies then this one will be for you. I would give 4 out of 10 at best.
