This stems from Eli Manning's prank YouTube video where he coined the name and persona "Chad Powers" when he went undercover as an older walk-on trying out for the Penn State football team.

The football team is the fictional University of South Georgia Catfish, as a nod to tricking others with a false identity, or "catfishing."

Scenes were filmed at UGA's Sanford Stadium, including during a halftime show of a Georgia vs. Mississippi State football game in October 2024

The football game sequences were filmed in the fall of 2024 at Center Parc Stadium in Atlanta, home of the Georgia State University Panthers football team. This stadium began its life as the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games stadium. It was then reconfigured for baseball and renamed Turner Field after the games. Turner Field was the home of the Atlanta Braves from 1997 - 2016, before the team relocated to Truist Park. Georgia State University bought the property in 2017 and began its reconfiguration into a football stadium.
