Homeless

Gosh is a guy going through a hard time Due to no fault of his own. This movie is a must watch but stick with it to the end, there is a message here. He learns to say thank you through the movie it's a true reflection of someone going through pain and uncertainty. People come and go through his life he had no one sticks, Well you need to see what happens at the end.

This person (philyoung....)clearly has no idea what being homelessness is truly like--He judges too quickly without understanding or even *wanting* to understand. A genuinely fine photographer as he states he is would need to exude empathy to portray an honest review or photograph. Empathy cannot be learned. Either we have it or we don't. I was a homeless woman decades ago with 2 very young children after our apartment building was sold and we were forced to live where we could while I worked and my children attended school. We slept in shared quarters with other homeless families while all of us in shelter tried to feel "normal" as if there were such a thing. Now my children are grown, successful adults, after being honor students all throughout school and well behaved, but nothing will ever shake the memories of feeling so lost, depressed, alone and misunderstood alongside all the fears and uncertainty which engulfed us daily, so before some snotnose says he doesn't get the impression or feeling (oh really?!) of homelessness from the film and/or its characters perhaps he should literally humble himself enough to experience homelessness firsthand.

Everyone is this film seems to be in the depths of depression with no sign of ever emerging from it. All interactions between characters are as stilted as the dialogue is trite. Question is, will you get sick of the kid's hangdog face (which never changes) or the droning electronic music and tinkling piano. At least give your main character a teeny bit of personality. Why that cute girl had a thing for him confounds reason. It's not like it was a deep introspective brooding. There was nobody home. He was a complete imbecile! I've worked in shelters, and while the clients are certainly suffering there's a comraderie and joking around and general distractions of their situation. It's not all brooding and moaning like the characters here. His superior attitude would have gotten him severely beaten on the street after leaving the shelter for the day. His grandma was hokey and the relationship with his Dad came across as false. Any time a character tried to be kind or lighthearted towards him, it was overplayed and only reminded to serve the viewer that makers of this film were woefully unequipped to the task and didn't do much of any research regarding their chosen subject matter. In more competent hands this could have been a rather compelling movie. As it stands it's beyond dull. And the flashbacks were a drag. This would have been easier to watch if it unfolded in a linear fashion. The lighting is atrocious. The running time is an aberration. Everything, meaning very little, this movie wanted to say could have been accomplished in a 20 minute short. This was an absolute slog to endure. Easily the most annoying movie I've sat through. Eventually i had to mute it whenever that darn piano music came on. Will definitely avoid any future projects from the writers and producers of this travesty.

I've not read any reviews of this film so I might be repeating others' thoughts, but wow, that was one of the most heart rendering, emotional films I've ever seen. Gosh (Josh with a G) is the eponymous homeless guy. He's not been dealt a good hand in life through no fault of his own. He meets kindly people on his journey towards normality. But what is normality? Neither a drug addict nor an alcoholic, Gosh has been dealt bad cards. And you so wish for a happy ending for him. Does he get one? I won't spoil it - but maybe happy endings are for the multiplexes. A beautifully bleak 8 out of ten

Love that review and so accurate. What an awesome film but im so utterly sad for him. Damn. This young kiddo did an excellent job with such desperate, hopeless subject matter, he literally carried this film in every way; not only that this is his first film...wow unbelievable! Bravo Michael! I felt his pain and loss deeply and in a very visceral way. I agree, I wanted to reach through the screen and give him a hug. Damn. Oh and did I say damn? Good luck, awesome film, holds you throughout, but heartbreaking story for certain. Highly Recommended!! Well done!
