Christmas at Xander Point

I'm sitting here waiting for the acting to get better, and resigning myself to that hope going unanswered. Junior high school productions have much better acting.

The mood music is distracting from the dialog, which might be a good thing. Someone thought that stringed instruments being plucked too loudly during scenes where we're supposed to be listening to the lines was a good idea. As if that wasn't obnoxious enough, they switched to other repetitive music effects.

Not one character managed to make me care about their plight. The actors stumbling over their lines doesn't help with that. Extremely disappointing and not worth the time wasted on it.

"Xander Point" captures the essence of Christmas. The storyline, which centers around saving a beloved lighthouse and finding a missing child, brings the community together in a heartfelt and moving way. The film's warmth and spirit remind me of my favorite Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel, where hope and miracles are always around the corner. The performances are delightful, and the plot is both engaging and heartwarming, making it a perfect watch for the festive season. "A Week Before Christmas at Xander Point" is a charming holiday film that is a truly magical holiday experience! 🎄✨

I enjoyed the movie. The storyline is complicated as there are several side stories which makes it hard to depict the main story. However, themes are clear: 1) do what is right in the eyes of the Lord; 2) people make bad choices and need redemption; 3) good triumphs over wrongdoing. The budget was small for this movie. However, it is filmed in a quaint and historic South Carolina town of Newberry, which is refreshing and homelike. The cast includes the beautiful Kelley S Williams of Family Matters fame and some fresh, young and upcoming talent! I appreciate smut free, violence free films. I think this is worth watching with children to discuss the themes and various stories to help them learn the difference between good and evil/right and wrong. Thank you Fisher Films! I hope this gets picked up by a strong streaming platform like Pure flix.

It's nice to be able to watch movie with my kids without worrying about foul language, sex, violence etc. This movie has a unique plot without centering on the tired "do you believe in Santa Claus" theme. The plot moves pretty quickly and it is a refreshing change from most Christmas movies.

The movie has a happy ending (of course) but does end rather abruptly and I would have liked to see a little more wrapping up of loose ends. But overall a good movie.

Rent the movie for five dollars and support small independent film-makers rather than supporting corrupt Hollywood, who hates you and your children.
