This is short concept teaser for an hypothetical CGI version of Tekkonkinkreet, (Which was eventually released as an anime movie in 2006) directed by Koji Morimoto (Better known for his Animatrix short "Beyond") instead of Michael Arias.
Now, while Koji Morimoto is a great filmmaker and animator, this feels like a complete departure from his usual output, using some rather stiff CGI instead of the stylish aesthetic present in most of his stuff.
There are some interesting visuals there and there, but the characters look robotic and expressionless, in sharp contrast with the fluid and intensely expressive animation from the final movie.
Making Tekkonkinkreet a 2D film was for the best.
