What happens when screenwriters lose a bet to 12 year old kids
Representative of this entire 5th season. WTF happened to this brilliant show? I have never seen such an instant decline in quality as I had to sit through going from season 4 to season 5 here.
While the kickoff still suggested a good and worthy addition to the previous seasons, what enfolded from episode 2 to the finale can only be described as an insult to the viewers' common sense and taste in at least decent writing, acting and cutting.
Not sure what would make me even consider to give a potential season 6 a chance. Damn shame.

End it already please!
This show was amazing when it first came out. Steve Martin and Martin Short were in top form. Even Selena Gomez caught my attention. The first 2 seasons were fenomenal and the chemistry was outstanding! Then it slowly declined and now it's reached rock bottom. Time to pull the plug and make new shows.
There is a lesson to be learned by many shows that ran too long and lost credibility and viewers! Don't do that to this show!
It's ran its course. Put.it.to.sleep! I beg of you!

Come on people!
Love the show, it is just plain funny and a great watch. If you are looking for an award winning show, move on, just enjoy what they are offering. Great cast and guest stars, well written.

Good, but Not Superb
I do agree to some extent with the reviewers. The characters are wonderful, but with a Season 6 on the way, let's get talented people together and put together a tight plot. There is a lack of continuity here and not the mystery that grabs us. This final episode didn't have the spark to take it across the line. There were moments that called for wit and engagement, and while there was some of that, it sort of slid off the track.
Still, I'll be there next year if I'm able.

A season to forget for watcher and for writers learn their mistakes for the 6th season
This season premiered with three amazing episodes, the second best start (the third season has the best first three episodes title) of the series, so you are lead to believe this season will be amazing, however this idea doesn't materialise itself. Weekly we would get new episodes with bad storytelling and dialogue, so the other seven episodes of the season are mediocre, at best.
The plot is weak, the progression is very slow and at times it feels like some parts were overstretched as if the writers didn't consider the whole season so they had to add a lot of filler and loose ends - even if they carelessly "solved" some of those - to meet the runtime of the episode. Not to talk about the retcon, Lester seemed like a nice fella, but some (new) things just don't match, the writers had to create a way to further the bond Lester had with the building and the main trio (especially them) and if you rewatch earlier seasons, you don't see the camaraderie they imply in this season. I understand why they did it, but it just shows that if they don't even seem to plan within the same season, let alone many seasons ahead.
I reckon, though, that seeing Mabel with more lines in this season, in comparison to the last season, is very appealing and the trio has good chemistry. On the other hand, they had Christoph Waltz and Renée Zellweger and that was the best they could do with their characters? What a waste of their talents. I would put Téa Leoni in this mix, but she is so charming, she worked her way through with those scenes she was given.
As for the ending, yes, we will probably have a sixth season, after all there is a new victim. It was curious seeing people's theories online who would be the next "murdered" in the building. My only doubt is: considering how this new victim dies, what will the next season be like? Will it be something more serious or will they keep the goofiness at the current level? Because, lets be honest, Only Murders IS goofy, but it isn't a cute goofy anymore, it is too much. I do hope that they tone this goofiness down, bring it back to season1 or 3 levels, it has its silly moments, but, they can be serious too.

- ट्रिवियाCharles asks Mabel and Oliver if they are "familiar with the Chinese brain twister puzzles in the Mysto Magic set from the 1953 Deluxe edition." This is, in fact, a thing. As a mid-century toy collectable, these sets can easily fetch several hundred dollars at auction.
Although there were no "Chinese brain twister puzzles" to speak of, the printed booklet of magic in the set did include a description of how to perform "Chinese Ring on a String." A reasonable suspension of disbelief could relate this trick to why Charles asks Mabel and Oliver if they knew of the set, but the trick doesn't directly apply to anything that Charles does.
- गूफ़Lester has the book in his hand when the Mayor is running after him in the lobby, and then it disappears when he runs outside. However, on the previous episode, LESTR (2025), it shows that the doorman Lester meets up with the new doorman with the bloody elevator handle and the book is in his hand, but there is no Mayor running after Lester. The new doorman would have seen all of this.
