Homo Argentum

I'm from USA and never seen a movie like this in my life. It's simply incredible, I can't stop laughing and smiling during the movie. Franccela have potential to make films in Hollywood, is the best Latin American actor i have ever seen. Please make more movies like these. I love the series the boss too.

I feel that a lot of people and critics here are taking this movie personal. Ive left Argentina in 2001 in the worst time of the first century and I can ASSURE you all the Argentineas you meet overseas are 80% all of these characters franchella did. Yes of course that Argentina has "good" people, but unfortunately we are what we are. Just like italians are portraited as Mafia people and Germans very strict, there are social patterns that Argentinias fall into this one PERFECTLY.

As an Argentine, I dare say it's undoubtedly a caricature of some characters or similar ones that exist in our society, and perhaps in some form in other countries as well. Just as The Simpsons is a blatant critique of American society, this is a blatant critique of Argentine society, and some people who believe that criticizing one's own is offensive find it offensive and disgusting, and worse. They can do whatever they want. I enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

After reading so many absurdly negative reviews, I decided to go to the theater to see for myself if they were right or wrong.

The film is divided into 16 small stories, a format different from the conventional and that gave it freshness.

Some of these mini-movies are pretty bad, especially the shorter ones.

Some others are very good, either for being funny or for making us think about some things that we as Argentines have a complex about.

Guillermo Francella is fantastic, he managed to embody each of the characters perfectly.

The only thing I really didn't like was the way they showed brands, I remember OnCity, SoloDeportes, Mostaza among others. Very forced and not very organic.

Beyond that, it's a fun movie to spend time with the family.

First, its true. All the rewiews here are politicized from each front, right handed (10 /9 stars) and progresist (2/1 stars). But the truth is that 16 personalities its a mess, not representative of argentinians (just porteños), and its a festival of comercial sponsors. I miss the times when duprat and cohn were more objetive like in "el hombre de al lado" and i would prefer this movie would be a series, and "nada" a movie. Finally, like you or not, the protagonist and director are new right handed and politicized, and this movie reflected. Their previous selfs were better.
