Jim Harris, raised by his grandmother after being orphaned, faced an arranged marriage with June Willem, a plan set by their families, both descended from European royalty. Initially resisting, Jim went abroad, assuming the matter was forgotten, but his grandmother later orchestrated a meeting with June, sparking an unexpected connection. June, trying to cancel the engagement, left her friend's resume behind, leading Jim to mistake Penny Turner for his fiancé. Penny, seeing an opportunity, pretended to be his fiancée and plotted against June, but Jim soon developed feelings for June, who attempted to distance herself. When Jim's grandmother pressed for the marriage, Penny faked a pregnancy to secure her position. Meanwhile, June discovered she was also pregnant, leading the grandmother to plan a wedding. On the wedding day, Penny's deceit was exposed, and in a jealous rage, she kidnapped June, injuring Jim. Penny was imprisoned, and Jim and June were ultimately united.
