Full Nelson

Not great. Dissatisfying, slightly underwhelming. They did all that hyping up and it didn't deliver. No idea how or why it leads to "Man of Tomorrow". Also it ends on a cliffhanger and yet "Season 3 is not being planned" but we have no idea where do we go from now. Maybe I should've managed my expectations, but l've seen a lot of fans feeling a similar way. Honestly, I prefer S1 more! Still, I'm curious to see how it continues (or rather where and when).

We spent 7 episodes developing a plot line that revolved around Earth X only for it to get forgotten about at the drop of a hat. What was even the point? There was good character development, but the plot surrounding said character development was a huge nothing burger. I genuinely don't even remember what happened on episodes 2-4. Why did we meander on nothing-burger plot lines for 7 episodes just to rush the finale? Where's the pacing? Absolutely awful. I'd rate it lower than 4 but the acting was so good I can't put it any lower than this.

Episodes 6 and 7 were very good and impactful.

Episode 8, however, felt like they'd run out of ideas and were just piecing together scraps to create something.

Touching about the Peacemaker's evolution and drama? Yes, but very lukewarm and bland. It was only worse than the ending of Creature Command.

The season was pretty good over all but why end it like that? I hated the ending; it could have been so much better. It felt like James Gunn gave up and had no clue how to end the season. Just terrible and lazy writing, not sure why the last episode was the weakest of the season. I'm a big fan of Peacemaker, I was so looking forward to this episode, and I was so let down. Maybe that's why I'm so angry.

I have no idea why James Gunn overhyped this episode so much. If I recall correctly, he even mentioned big cameos - but we never got those. Maybe the "big cameos" were just the bands playing in this episode?

Overall, if we forget about the hype and broken promises, the ending is about 50/50 for me. I like how it concluded - it's a satisfying ending that, while not spectacular or bombastic, fulfills the character arcs in a beautiful way.

The other 50% is where it loses me. I understand the intention to connect this to other projects, but leaving the show on an unnecessary cliffhanger didn't add anything to the story. In fact, it weakens that character arc a bit and left me with no desire to see Peacemaker Season 3 (if that ever happens).

If you've seen the previous episode, you can probably predict some of the things that catch up to Peacemaker here, but I still feel it could have been executed much better.
