Boston Blue

While I was hoping that I would get a good feeling about the new show, Boston Blue, but it did not meet or exceed expectations. Characters are weak, plot weak, and who wants to be in Boston? I really like Danny Wahlburg and 2 other great Blue Bloods characters it doesn't come close to Blue Bloods. It makes no sense to me why a show like Blue Bloods that everyone loved and ratings were excellent ended up being terminated. The actors didn't want the show to end, and the viewers didn 't either. I'm pretty disgusted with CBS programming, but Blue Bloods was one that I really liked and watched faithfully.

Just can't get into it! Too many new characters (all related to each other!) & no familiar faces. I miss Ton Selleck & family!!

Also don't find Boston as compelling as NYC. And the family dinners were such a big part of each episode! I miss Erin, Eddie, grandpa, etc!!! Just looks like every other police procedural out there!

The blended religions, the blended races, besides being confusing, it's such a big part of the show. I can't buy the blonde as police captain, her demeanor for one. Not much in the way of actual crime cases and when there is the characters are musing about religion. The familial relationships from the D. A. to Danny's partner ...Guess I'll just pass. I wanted to like it.

I have watched Boston Blues from the start because of Donny Wahlberg. The characters do not meld as a family and having Danny and Sean at their Jewish dinners who were devoted Catholics isn't right. This is a show that tried to be Blue Bloods with a different cast that just does not work. CBS has done an injustice to both Blue Bloods by canceling it and Boston Blues for trying to make it Blue Bloods.

If episode one is an example of future writing this show won't last. Way too many convenient events to move the story along. Dialogue is forced. Danny's bull in a china shop approach might work in New York, but he has no bona fides to get away with it in Boston. Nice location filming. I hope episode 2 is better. I miss Blue Bloods.
