The loud music score throughout the entire movie!!!!
The loud music score throughout the entire movie!!!! What in the world?!! I couldn't hear the characters over the loud overbearing sound track. Who thought that music in every scene so loud was a smart thing to do. Once the music stopped, I could actually hear bit once it ramped up again ... Yikes!!!!
Daughter comes home for Christmas
5.4 stars.
This film feels good at times, although it's clunky. It's obviously a Christian production with the constant praying and religious conversations and church setting.
The actors are amateurs, with awkward timing and wooden performances all around. The lead actress is average, and that is the extent of talent. The dad and mom are putting forth effort to seem like humans. The lead male is deliberate in his approach, he takes it slow and steady and so he comes across as somewhat charming, but definitely amateurish. All the other secondary characters are clumsy, but mostly beautiful people.
Overall this production is low budget and it cannot be camouflaged. The dialogue is not stimulating and is barely recognizable as Hallmark-adjacent. The lead female is beautiful, even if her skills are low-average, but she has some attractive moments. The lead male is engaging and somewhat charismatic, but needs a lot of work. On a positive note, the other production aspects are not bad, such as the editing and cinematography. In contrast, the script is terrible and the music is not inviting, but is a loud mood-killer, which significantly detracts from the atmosphere. This is the main reason I feel that 'Christmas on Every Page' is not an entertaining watch. But even if the music was spectacular, there would be no salvaging it.
There is barely any emotional impact or significant appeal to this film, but what can be expected from such a low-budget and unskilled production? Of course, nobody can really guess how a cookie-cutter Christmas movie will turn out, because sometimes even low budget movies get lucky -- just not this one.

It put me to sleep
I looked at the two Hallmark movies then made the decision to watch this one on GAF channel. I wanted this to be engaging and interesting. This was not to be. The acting was stiff. The sets were plain. The music was loud and sometimes drowned out the dialog. I wasn't sure what the story was and where it was going, other than adult daughter comes home for Christmas to help out at the family business (a bookstore) and meets a guy.
Middle of the road
I appreciated seeing new faces other than the same old faces that we see in so many movies. I also appreciated seeing younger actor's falling in love, as opposed to people in their mid-40s after their spouse had died, or after the divorce has been 5 years ago now - time to move on! The movie was not quite as "professional" as some from GAC Family, but the "freshness" was one of its best qualities.
Needed a bigger budget
Not the production level I was expecting from a GAM Christmas movie.
The story itself is cute with a premise that's adorable, but the low budget distracts and detracts. Sometimes the music is louder than the dialogue; transitions are stark; cinematography and sets are basic and lack polish.
Aside from the mom and Erin, the acting was either over-the-top, forced, or amateur. The male lead did well, but I could see him thinking about how he was supposed to act, rather than naturally responding to the scene. The movie felt clunky, scripted and a bit disjointed, lacking natural flow to conversations.
