X Marks the Aardvark

This animated short is a student film, but it's surprisingly well done. I really like the artistic choice of keeping the background in black and white while presenting the characters in color. Overall, the film's a great example of Chuck Jones-style animation, meaning classic animated slapstick comedy: exaggerated movements, visual humor, no dialogue, and plenty of dynamic sound effects to carry the story, all at a brisk, energetic pace. What makes it even more interesting is the contrast-the characters are designed in a modern animation style, which creates a fresh twist on classic slapstick.
