BIO DRAMA
Co-written and co-directed by Akira Kurosawa adapting from the essays of Hyakken Uchida that opens with professor Hyakken Uchida (Tatsuo Matsumura) who at the year of 1943 announces his retirement to his class after teaching for 30 years. We then see him grow older as each year passes with his already adult successful students continuing to visit him as well as renting halls to celebrate his birthday. A portion of the time we see the professor affected of his missing cat Alley.
Final film of Akira Kurosawa that can be a cross between "Goodbye Mr. Chips" and "It's A Wonderful Life" as many of his students continue to look after him and so forth including buy him a new place since his old one was burned down by the war. There are many scenes of the professor's students laughing at the professor's humor before it dwells on how much he cared for this one particular cat. The original ending is perhaps the best thing about the film, otherwise there is nothing cringing about it.

(1916) He Did and He Didn't
SILENT COMEDY
Written, directed and starring Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle that has him being suspicious of his wife's infidelity. It is then viewers see bizarre scenarios some of which can be labelled as a dream while they can also be interpreted as thoughts.
Anyways, I may need to watch this one again as despite it's short running time, it still put me to sleep.
