I hadn't seen a Pete davidson movie is a while and am glad I caught this one on the big screen. In The home Pete davidson is a foster child whose rough upbringing and bad "choices" land him in community service at a retirement home of sinister activity. The film covers some tough topics such as experimental drugs, mind control, media distraction, "vampiric" energy draining, and governmental projects. I'm happy to see Pete and the writers remind people or introduce those unknowing of the issues within our media, institutions, homes, and day to day life in which some sinister minds drain the unknowledged of energy and lead them down paths not ideally holy. I feel the movie was rough around the edges with a creative story making for a "expect the unexpected" ending. I could read where the movie was going but never could have guessed exactly what went down. Is a good watch while it's out and won't be out long only to disappear in between platforms leaving only those willing to buy it able to see.
Set in a retro-futuristic new York of earth-828, The fantastic four: first steps is a great addition to an already vast multiverse we see in the MCU. The main point in the movie is family and treating everyone as such with the 4 being faced with a planetary threat of galactic. Silver surfer looked amazing and gave the four a tough time in the process of saving earth. The reason I docked 2 stars from rating is I feel there wasn't enough of a downswing in the liking of the four and there could have been some more side quest action in saving people. Other than that i'd give it a watch at your local Cinemark.
The bad guys must be bad again to be good. With the female squad entering the mix and blackmailing/framing the bad guys we are seen with a similar plot to the first film as the bad guys attempt to clear their name and same the day. This was a funny, creative yet simple sequel to the original and taught me you can't run from your past. You must face your past and create a better future using the history you've created for the greater good. It may cause some bumps along the road but you can still get to a destination.
