As someone who grew up watching the 2003 TMNT series, I did everything in my power to love this movie, but I couldn't. If I was a 10 year-old kid, I think I would have love it, but as a grown-ass man, it just didn't offer too much for me.
First of all, Mutant Mayhem takes a lot of liberties when it comes to reinterpreting the TMNT mythos. With the most glaring and controversial being that Master Splinter is no longer a respected sensei and martial artist, but rather just a laid-back father that gave his sons enough tools to be ninjas.
One thing I really can't stand about this movie is the dialogue. This movie has absolutely no subtlety when it comes to dropping pop culture references.
Expect to hear the characters saying things like "Forza Horizon", "Avengers: Endgame" or "Batman" constantly.
In conclusion, I can appreciate this movie for its animation and art direction, but certainly not for its writing, and that more or less just ruins everything else for me.

Picture this: You watch a certain cyberpunk anime film from the late 80s, and you decide to make something loosely inspired by it.
You only have a superficial understanding of what made it work in the first place, yet you continue, convinced that the visual spectacle and the shock value will be more than enough to attract most viewers.
That's the overall impression I have of this OVA.
Genocyber feels less like an actual story and more like a weird amalgamation of scenes only held together by a loosely defined (and poorly explained) plot.
Having said all this, do I hate it? Honestly, I can't. Despite all its faults, Genocyber is nowhere near the worst thing I've seen. And truth be told, it has some interesting artistic choices, like the use of 3D animation and live-action footage for some scenes.
I can only recommend this OVA to someone who wants to watch something weird just for the sake of it.

Let me put it like this: This is no ordinary "movie". As a matter of fact, I wouldn't even bother to call it a "documentary", because it hardly documents anything.
"Zoo" can only be described as a poorly edited compilation video of interviews that somehow, someway, lasts for more than an hour.
This "movie" is the visual equivalent of playing a record with the intention to listen to music, only to hear a toddler smashing their hands violently against a keyboard.
There is absolutely no sense of pace or exposition whatsoever. Every single interview of this film is presented without any substantial information, and it feels completely disconnected from each other since they all end so abruptly.
If it wasn't for the synopsis of the film, I would have never (in a thousand years) figured it out what the subject of this movie truly was.
If you value your time, please refrain from watching this film. I rather watch paint dry before submitting myself once again to the complete boredom and confusion that was watching "Zoo".
I can only recommend it if you're suffering from insomnia, and you're desperately looking for a cure.
