Olivia Colman & Benedict Cumberbatch were sublime as usual. No notes.

Andy Samberg also did the best he could and somehow managed to not make his character seem annoying given the writing.

The movie needed a lot more Allison Janney who was great for the few minutes she was in and a lot less Kate McKinnon whose character was just absurd and over the top for no reason. Did not find her remotely funny.

None of the other characters were fully formed and you couldn't care less about them. Wasted some really talented actors like Ncuti Gatwa in throw away roles.

The story offered nothing substantial...when you don't have anything good to say, say nothing. When you have absolutely nothing to say, maybe don't go and make a movie about it. The story was absolutely blah. Pedro was excellent, Chris was fine, Dakota was ok..if maybe a bit flat which could have been salvaged by the writing but there was no depth to any of the characters. Not every movie needs to change your life but it should at least leave an impression till you walk out of the theatre...this one became painfully obvious where it was headed somewhere along the middle and you couldn't wait to just get it over with and move on with your day. The cinematography and set design was flawless..I was sold into the world but never the story.

Yes the shows has its fault but Luke Kirby pretty much makes up for all of them! Some of the characters are very caricatured but the dance and the acting performances make the sometimes awkwardly written storylines bearable enough to enjoy the show in a single binge! The Palladinos as usual repeated some of the old favourites and it's an absolute pleasure to see all of them. The dialogue is sharp and quick- very signature Palladino stuff. Overall, not unlike my review, the story lines are a bit all over the place but their casting team as usual has hit it out of the park with exceptional talent in every single scene.
